Have a Garage Sale - or just donate it all?

Ugh - we have lots of stuff.  Stuff from my college years, stuff from DH's previous marriage/home, stuff, stuff, stuff.

I am trying to sell some of it on ebay/craigslist, but honestly some of it isn't worth posting and possibly shipping somewhere.

I'm taking the clothes to Goodwill.

Should I try to have a garage sale in the spring (at 30 weeks-ish pregnant)- or just donate it all now?

What would you do?

  • I would totally have a garage sale! We plan on having one in the spring as well!

Then donate what doesnt sell and get the tax right off credit!

  • Garage sale!  But make sure to call a charity and schedule a truck pickup for the afternoon of the sale.  That way you don't have drag everything back inside and it will be all gone.

My parents do this once every couple years.  They get rid of stuff and make cash that they use on vacations.

  • I'd vote for garage sale. We had 3 sales the summer before we got married. We made enough to pay for half of our honeymoon. It is amazing what people will buy.

  • Have a garage sale, use some of the $ to pay for some baby things you want to buy for your little one and donate the rest. Tax write off's are the best!

  • Definitely yard sale!!!
then get rid of the stuff...
  • Yard sale!!  Then just donate what you have left.

This, unless you really think you won't be up for it then (you were saying around 30 weeks preggers).
