"Be who you are and say what you feel, because those that mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind." - Dr. Seuss
I often get in trouble for saying whats really on my mind. Most of my friends love this about me as I don't ever say whats "really" on my mind without a caring unjudgemental tone. HOWEVER, my family (extended family) certainly does mind. One situation out of alot .... once FH and I got engaged I was being bombarded all the time ..."when are you having kids?" , "when can we expect babies?" This was a everyday thing. One person in particular asked me every time I saw or talked to them for the next month. So I let everyone know that FH and I are unsure of when were going to TTC and I would appreciate it if they stop asking 24/7 as its quite brothersome when I have to answer that question everytime I talk to you. Well they flipped out, one in particular. She was all like, "you don't have the right to ask this, i don't have the right to ask people to stop touching my freaking belly or to stop telling me how huge i am."
I believe that if I am doing something that is upsetting to someone else I sure would want to know even if its awkward for a micro-second.
There I am done.
Re: My new favorite quote and famly vent ...
random... oh well... its not all about them...
After a little bit of work, we were able to get the families off our back about when we would get married, when we would have kids. It was such hard work - that even though we're considering TTC soon (was a very big decision since we weren't sure we wanted a baby) we are not telling any of the family that we are even considering the possibility of a baby. I could not handle them coming with all the questions again.
We totally had ppl like that! As soon as we got married, the questions started. Then, I gained a bit of weight, so questions got more persistant. It is so rude! We had TTTC and it was painful and hurtful when people asked. It is well within your rights to tell people to mind their own business. If they refuse and keep asking, you could always ignore questions or walk away when they are asked. Or there's always witty comebacks that you could come up with.
All in all though, its nobody's business but yours, and I really wouldn't want to know if/when people are having a ton of sex!
