Lost - what do you think so far? (spoilers)
I am getting into it. The cave was FINALLY something. We need more!
Do you the list in the ankh was the same as the names/numbers in the cave? Do you think the people that are still around that are not key numbers going to make it?
Re: Lost - what do you think so far? (spoilers)
I was really pissed off that Kate wasn't on that damn cave wall. I just can't get past it enough to think about anything else. I am glad things are starting to fall just a little into place. I'm starting to question who/what smokey/flocke is. Is he really evil? Where is 'home' to him? Why does he want off the island? Do you think Jacob was keeping him there for a reason?
I do think the list in the ankh (had to google what that was! lol) may be the same list in the cave.
I really loved this Locke episode alot. It made me really miss real Locke and sad that he's gone. I liked when drunk Sawyer told Flocke/Smokey that he wasn't the real John Locke bc the real John Locke was scary.
I'm not completely sold on this 'flash sideways' business either. That just doesn't make sense to me yet. I want to think maybe this is either how life would be if Jacob didn't medle in their lives perhaps? Or maybe these are flash forwards we're seeing and we just don't know how we get to the point back on the plane yet?
First off, I have to say that everytime I read Flocke in your post Jen, I kept thinking you were spelling it wrong. THEN it occured to me Flocke = fake Locke
Duh!!!
I hadn't thought about the list in ankh being the same list in the cave, but now that you mention it, I'm betting you're right. I was pissed not to see Kate's name up there too! I found the symbolism in the black and white rocks on the scale being even pretty interesting, and laughed when Flocke took the white rock and tossed it in the ocean, like "I'm in charge now".
I keep wondering what is "home" to Smoky, too? And why he wants off the island so badly. Do you think he had to get Sawyer to say he wanted to leave too (the last of his 3 options, he said "Hell yes!") so he could use his body as a host to get "home"? Locke was already dead when he came (back) to the island, so I'm guessing he can't use his body, he needs Sawyer's.
I really enjoyed this Locke centered episode too, and it made me miss the old Locke. I almost teared up when Ben/Lapidus/Sun and whatever-that-chick's-name-is buried him on the beach, it finally hit me that Locke is really dead. And Jen, I thought Sawyer said to Flocke that he wasn't the real John Locke because the real John Locke was scared (maybe meaning not confident or sure of himself like Flocke seems to be?), not scary...check it on your DVR will ya? lol
I'm not sure what the scenes we're seeing after the planes lands really are yet...my thoughts initially were that we're seeing how their lives would have been had they not crashed on the island/Jacob had not meddled, but I'm not sure yet.
I do love that we're getting somewhere though! I hope they keep up this momentum.
I remember it as scared too.
I didn't even catch that Kate's name wasn't written in the cave. I also liked this episode centered around Locke and am sad that he's dead. Although this episode made some progress, I need to know more.

Late in responding, as usual!
I agree with all of your comments. In regards to the side flashes, I'm wondering if, regardless of the island, if all the members are "destined" to be together somehow. It's almost as if, when the island was destroyed, "destiny" (as mentioned a lot in last season) had to compensate to bring them all together.
Perhaps I'm just not that smart, or that I'm way behind the times, but my sister told me that John Locke and Rousseau were the name of philosopher's and the "messages" that Lost is sending out is congruent to their beliefs. Is this common Lost knowledge? I had no idea!
