Need paint ideas

Can any of you ladies recommend a great paint color for my master bedroom, bathroom, guest bath, or office....I'm running low on ideas and D only wants to do neutrals...If I have to paint one more room in my house a shade of brown I will scream.  As of now our kitchen is Valspar Arid Plains and chocolate brown.  The LR is Valspar Wild Hawk.  I will put pics of these two rooms in my profile so you can get an idea of the style of our place.

Re: Need paint ideas

  • What about a light grey or like a moss green?

  • Funny...I was thinking the grey for my bedroom and green for the bath.  I want nice soothing colors that aren't too bright but D is just annoying when it comes to picking out colors.
  • we have a dark gray bathroom with bright white trim and I love it!  It has pale yellow tile, which sounds strange, but you wouldn't believe how many compliments we get on it.

  • That sounds like a great color combo for a bath, Christen. I desperately need to paint, too. I'm looking for a green that's neutral enough to use all over the house. I am also sick of all of my shades of tan!
  • How about a slate blue in the bathroom. I consider it a neutral, don't know if your hubz would think the same.

I like this color, it's what I was thinking, bonus points if your bathroom looks like this! But you could change the towels with the season and do a quick and cheap update every 6 months. Well a change at least.

  • Yes yes...I do like the blue.  Sadly my bathroom does not look like that.  It is pretty much the same bathroom that you see in houses built in the last 10 years.  Shower no the left, jacuzzi in the middle of his and hers closets...you know the routine.
  • That's what I figured, probably a large window too. That's why I thought the blue would be nice, use dark gray towels in the winter or yellow in the spring/summer.

  • I adore rooms that are bluish gray.  I vote for that.  I like greens too.

  • DH wanted a neutral color in the den/dining area and I was over the browns. We ended up going with Valspar's "Tea Stain." It looked a little on the grayish side on the sample card, but when we got the sample can it came out and dried like a greenish-graying color. It is very light, and just the right amount of color, but not too far from a "neutral."
