When I was in college people wouldn't "go out" on a Fri/Sat until 11pm. Evidently that sticks with people. DH and I are supposed to get a drink with some friends of his and they said we'll go at "10:30 or 11pm."
It's 9pm! I want my beer (or rather, my Bahama Mama) so I can go to bed. What difference does it make between 9 or 11? Someone has to know. Or someone out there has to agree that it's just crazy. Maybe I'm just getting old.
Also, what's with the "10:30 or 11?" That's a half hour difference! Stupid. Give me a time and give it to me early.
Vent over.

Re: Why do people do this?
Haha I'm with you, lady. H and I went to a bar a week before the wedding because my coworker's band was playing. Well, the bar was a half hour away, which is fine, but they didn't even go on till 10. We were yawning when we walked in the door! So of course we had to stay for at least an hour so we didn't look like jerks. I turned to H and was like "I know we're getting married next week, but I feel wicked old tonight!"
I'm a homebody when it comes down to it. I'd rather wear sweatpants and have a glass of wine (or a bottle) on my couch than go out to a place I don't even like to spend $9 on a mixed drink.
Ho hum.
my blog
Shazzie, I would have been in a terrible mood. I get cranky too easily when I'm at a bar.
When I was in HS my bf has a friend in a band and we would go watch him play. Well they would say they were going on at 10, which I guess is when they're scheduled, but they wouldn't get on stage 'til close to midnight. Every show, never on time! Bah!

haha. i have such an inner conflict with this. most of the time, DH and I will go out early, have some drinks, and be home and in bed pretty early (earlier now that DH has swim practice at 5am)....more of the time, we'd rather just sit at home and drink and watch a movie. HOWEVER...there are times where I'm really itching to go out and have fun. I want to dance, drink and stay out late. I just dont really like having to wait until 11pm to actually start my night...but I like the idea of taking a nap...I just think that when I take a nap, its really hard for me to actually get up again.
bleh. constant conflict within myself haha.
Same here, melko. I don't think I could take a nap at 8 or 9 pm before going out, I'd just crash until like 3am, and then forget it!
Well we finally went last night and it wasn't too bad except that I was freaking exhausted. No one got smashed so we had some good conversation too.
Evidently there is a ranch in Southern TX that is bigger than the state of Rhode Island. If you pay to take one of their helicopter tours, they give you a free 20oz Porterhouse Steak at the end of the tour. They have all kinds of fancy steak. You should have seen DHs eyes light up like a 5 year old who was told they were going to Disney World!

aw that'll be fun melko! I miss my friends from back home
Have a good time!
thanks girls :-) I'm so pumped! pretty much we're all going to sit around eating, drinking and playing games haha. I'm so ready to have a fun drunken time with them since I didn't get drunk at my bparty haha.
It feels so good to be hanging out with these girls again (minus one that will be there)...because when DH and I started dating when I was 16, they all stopped talking to me because they wanted me to date my prom date. yeah, real mature, right? haha. All that drama is all long gone, but I feel like that is part of the reason I never had really close girl friends.
These have been your friends since HS? That's awesome. Aside from my MOH, I don't keep in touch with anyone from HS anymore.
And you've been with your DH since you were 16? How did that not come up before? That's cute, HS sweethearts, and rare to have stuck together this long! If I had married my HS sweetheart... well it wouldn't have been a good idea, haha.

yup...all since high school...pretty much I went to the same college as DH (because he went there, and I got a full tuition scholarship), so I already knew his friends in college....
...all of my girl friends from college all moved off campus..or they were crazy. seriously...all three of my friends from freshman year moved home...then sophomore year, my roommate flipped *** because I had so much homework (from the full tuition scholarship--honors program) that I couldnt talk to her and hang out with her 24-7. she ended up putting bleach in my fishbowl and killed my fish. yeah, crazy. Then I transfered schools and I had so much math homework all of the time, it was hard to make new friends. Oh yeah, my new girl friend moved home too.
and yes, we're high school sweathearts haha. I was 16 and he was 18 (we started dating two months before he graduated high school, and a little before I turned 17), so it wasnt all of high school, but sometimes we talk about how we can't believe we got through some stuff haha.
OMG, crazy roommates! I thank god I'm married and never have to deal with another roommate again (hopefully).
My Sr. year roomate would get really pissed at me for reasons I still can't figure out. She would stomp around the apartment like she was in the musical Stomp. She had about 4 different diseases and would brag about how she had to take over 20 pills a day. She always had a cold, too.
So I would always run the dishwasher on Sani-cycle because I didn't want to catch something from her. Well one day she purposely took it off Sani-cycle and then I caught a virus from her that attacked my gall bladder. I couldn't eat anything without intense pain and I had to go see a surgeon about getting it out (who told me it was virus that she gave me!). Luckily I didn't have to get out, but it's been starting flare up again. I have no doubt that she purposely tried to get me sick.

thats nuts! I have had crazy bad luck with roommates in general...
...which reminds me that I had a dream that you and I were roommates in a lime green room, and I think I honestly called you Panda haha.
That. Is. AWESOME!
