Well that game was a gongshow...
Seriously the hockey game between Canada and the USA was a gongshow. Brodeur was terrible...4 goals in 21 shots...are you kidding me? Also we had terrible passing, we showed zero intensity (minus the last minute of the game)...it was brutal. The US deserved to win that game...its just a shame that our 50 year Olympic winning streak against the US had to die on our own soil. Ahhh sad day.
Yeah yeah we have another shot...still cannot even believe our performance, theres no excuse for that. OK...vent of disappointment over...at least we won a silver today!!! Whoop whoop!
Re: Well that game was a gongshow...
I have to disagree annabelle...the US deserved to win. We outshot them, yes, but there wasn't much effort after it went to 3-2, until the very end. And why do we have 3 goalies if they are only going to play 1 of them. Luongo or Fleury should have been put in.
I must say too, in the post game interview, I was very impressed wtih Ryan Miller, the American goalie. He was a very gracious winner.
That game was really won and loss by the goaltenders. Brodeur was horrible, I can't believe they didn't go with Luongo. I can only hope that they've learned their lesson and smarten up now that its win or out.
And well, Ryan Miller is an amazing goaltender, but being Buffalo Sabres fans we were well aware of that. DH was too cute watching the game he was happy for Milller and wanted to make sure NONE of the Canadians came near him (didn't want him getting hurt), but at the same time really wanted the Canadians to win.
There was a couple things we could of done better but I think it really boiled down to the goalies. Ours sucked, theirs rocked. I am dissapointed that we lost, but I am hopefull for the upcoming games.
