(I figure if I start the week with a happy post, we'll have a happy week, right?)
I am starting to have a love/hate relationship with mini-vacations. I love them because they don't take a lot of time, planning, or money. I hate them because, even though I am vacationing, I don't really feel like I get a "break." Such was the feeling after spending two and a half glorious days at Disneyland (click my Life blog link in siggy for pics/story), I came home to an apartment that needed cleaning, e-mails that needed answering, papers that needed grading...etc. etc. etc.
Still, I woke up this morning feeling much more relaxed and rejuvinated than I do after a "normal" weekend. It was wonderful to have two interrupted days of time with my husband. I'm feeling much more amped to tackle the week ahead, despite not getting the rest/productivity of a "normal" weekend.
I've got class and work like normal today - Thursday, a training walk & scrapbooking session on Friday, and then my SIL is coming into town for the upcoming weekend, so I've cleared my calendar to spend time with her.
So, what's up ahead in your week?
Re: Happy Monday!
Looks like you had a fun mini-vacation at Disney!
This week I'm tackling a few organizational projects around the apartment, planning some meals, mailing my tax stuff, applying for health insurance, and viewing a house. Fun and exciting!

Looks like you guys had fun at Disney! I know what you mean about mini-vacations though, I always feel that way too.
We're going to Gatlinburg, TN on Friday for a fun weekend with 14 other couples. Its supposed to be a laid-back fun weekend full of drinking and relaxing... I'm hoping people keep the drama to a minimum.

Disneyland sounds like a fabulous way to spend the weekend.
We close on our new house on Wednesday. The seller's been a pain the entire process and "can't" be out for another week, though, so we're doing a leaseback for six days after closing. At least her truancy will pay for all our new paint.
Eek. Why can't the sellers be out by closing? Well, hooray for free paint.

She's divorced with a young autistic son, so she does have special circumstances during this move.
However, she requested an early closing to save herself a mortgage payment (which incurred higher costs for us) then came back and asked us to move back the closing date when her new house wasn't ready. We had already locked in our mortgage rate and couldn't change the closing date, so we agreed to the leaseback.
I think she just wants to have the final say on everything.
Steph - your seller sounds like a complete PITA. But I'm sure it will be worth it when you finally move in and know she helped pay for some of your redecorating.
We have a week of packing and cleaning ahead. We pick up the keys to our new apt. on Fri. and have about 6 people coming to help move us on Sat. I did get a surprising amount done this past weekend so I'm feeling pretty good about it.
And I have an interview tomorrow for a promotion. It would be a big jump so I'm really excited about it!
I'm jealous of your mini vacation! I'm working/class-ing until Wednesday then going to New Orleans Thursday for work/fun.
Hawki... how do you know FOURTEEN couples?? I feel like I don't know 14 people
Dandy... I'm not sure how we got into this... its a group trip that just grows every year. DH and I are new to the group but my best friend here grew up here and is still great friends with the 8 or so girls she was tight with in HS. A bunch of these girls married guys from another big group so somehow now its all combined together into this giant group of people. There is actually 1 couple I havent met.
