S/O on Trader Joe's pizza dough
I'm wondering what other staples you all buy when you go to Trader Joe's. I'm a "newbie" there and seem to get overwhelmed. What else should I definitely try?
Re: S/O on Trader Joe's pizza dough
Here's a list of some of the things I buy every week from TJ's:
Tzatziki (Greek yogurt/cucumber dip)
Hummus
Dried Cranberries (I eat these plain, like trek mix, but they are good in salads too)
Fish (they have a huge selection of fish and it's all pretty inexpensive, we usually get one thing of fish per week... we like the tilapia and the mahi mahi a lot)
Veggies (red peppers, Persian cucumbers, mushrooms, onions, avocados, all their veggies are pretty good)
Cage free eggs
Organic Cranberry Green Tea (I *love* this stuff... it's sweet and doesn't need sugar, IMO)
Earth Balance Vegan Butter
Vegan Fried Rice
Vegetable Bird's Nests (in the frozen section)
Whole Wheat Pizza Dough
Soy Cheese
Tomato Basil Pizza Burgers from Morning Star (they're meatless burgers and they taste *really* good. We buy them and melt swiss cheese on them and put them on top of rice w/ sauteed mushrooms... yum!)
I think that's it for staples... we like to go through the aisles and pick out a little something new every week though.
.
Have fun
I
their Double Fiber Whole Grain bread, ravioli in the refrigerated section. The cheese selection is awesome & so much cheeper than the regular grocery store. Prosciutto, the frozen pizzas are tasty like Amy's, but a lot cheaper, & the gnocchi (both flavors) in the frozen section are really good.
....and now I'm hungry.
Greek Yogurt
Chicken Sausages
Hummus
frozen Indian dishes (DH loves these)
Nuts/Trail Mix/Dried Fruit
Cage Free Eggs
Almond Butter (nice replacement for Peanut Butter)
trail mix
dried fruit
frozen section: asparagus, breaded eggplant, avocados, brown rice packets, pizza, green beans
I buy a lot of our meat there because it's minimally processed, vegetarian fed, range free, etc. Plus they have a lot of tasty pre-marinated stuff.
FF Yogurt - soooo creamy!
Eggs
Beer & Wine
PB filled pretzels
frozen bell pepper strips - red, yellow & green peppers for like $1.80
Sliced cheese - specifically gouda & sharp cheddar
Various produce items
Salsa
Nuts
Frozen black bean & cheese Taquitos
Popcorn
Frozen fruit for smoothies
We buy:
vegetable marsala burgers (amazingly yummy on the Naan (also in the frozen section) with some hummus)
Pizza Crust
TJ's pizza sauce
Some of the $1.99 noodle bowls are good, some are not
Frozen brown rice
and their cheap wine the "2 buck Chuck" is pretty good too.
