Morning! How was everyone's weekend?
It was so nice out this weekend!
Friday night we finished cleaning the house and around 11 our guests arrived. It was a fellow bridesmaid and her husband (from BFF's wedding).
BFF's shower was on Saturday. All things considered it went well. There is still unresolved drama, but whatever haha.
After the shower she and her fiance came over and hung out with the rest of us, we had a great game night!
Yesterday we had BFF and her fiance over for breakfast before they went back home, then lounged all day. In the afternoon we went to the IL's and saw our niece again
Re: Morning! How was everyone's weekend?
I miss game nights. Just gave me an idea for my next entertaining opportunity!
I had a great weekend. We went to the Travel Show and cheered on my clients in the Engagement Game. They lost but it was still fun. Saturday we went to the BC/UNC BBall game. My H is a MAJOR UNC fan so it was a blast to do that with him. We didn't do anything Saturday night and it was great. Sunday, I had a massage which was wonderful!
We had a great weekend too.. Friday night we met a few friends out for a drink, but didn't stay out too late.
Saturday we went to the gym together and then went to take his Nana to lunch, which was pretty funny. That night we stopped in Natick for some quick shopping and then saw Avatar in 3D...we felt like the last people to see it! The theatre was still pretty full though, so clearly there were SOME other people who hadn't seen it yet. It was great!
Sunday we had a pretty quiet day..went to the gym together again for a longer workout and then did some grocery shopping, cleaned, read, watched the Celtics game..nothing too crazy.
It was kind of nice to just relax and hang out though.
Friday I went to CT to stay overnight with my parents- we got take out, played Scrabble and watched the Olympics.
Saturday mom and I got up at the crack of dawn to drive to New Haven for a meeting- the meeting was exhausting and took forever but it was at some New Haven history museum that was really nice. Then I drove home, stopped at work and Michael's (ran out of yarn for a baby sweater I was working on) and got home at 8:30.
Sunday I slept til noon (I guess I was more tired from Saturday than I thought!) and spent the day cooking (chili and braided cardamom bread), knitting, and watching the Olympics. Sunday was so wonderfully relaxing.
You've got PM
Friday: rushed out of work to take the kitten back to the vet for a f/u appt and he looks like he is improving (massive eye infection). FIL came down for the evening and we went out to Lowell Beerworks for dinner... ate too much and was stuffed. After that, I made 2 doz cranberry walnut muffins and went to bed.
Saturday: woke up and made 2 dozen whole wheat chocolate chip muffins, went to bodypump, came home showered in 2 minutes and ran out the door. Dropped DH & FIL off at the BC/ UNC game (Christy-- you didn't happen to sit next to 2 fans with courtside seats, did you?!) and went ot my sister's apt in Boston. She was hosting a brunch and I helped her out. After the game ended, picked up DH/FIL and drove home and crashed! DH & I picked up gross sushi for dinner and watched Love Happens (I fell asleep and missed the very end).
Sunday: woke up and got the house ready for my parents & their BFFs to visit... made them lunch & oreo cheesecakes and hung out for a while... then crashed when they left!
It was a pretty good weekend though!
Friday night was just laid back, watching the Olympics.
Saturday was great. We went and spent a lot of money at Sears, lol. But we have a new TV in our bedroom that's flat screen so it's mounted on the wall and big enough so I can actually read the guide menu (couldn't on the 20" tube). It's purdy. DH got some saws.
That night we went in Boston to celebrate a friend's birthday.
Sunday lazy to begin with and eventually I made it out to the grocery store, only to come home and discover someone hit my car and cracked the front bumper in two places and dented the license plate. I don't know where it actually happened; we noticed it after I got back from the grocery store so it could have been there, or in the garage in Boston, or even earlier this week when I park on street then take public transit the rest of the way to work. I was pretty bummed. And we have a $500 deductable.
Mrs.C that totally sucks about your car!
Rock sorry about your bad news, not sure what it was..
morning
(afternoon?)
weekend was pretty good. we went up to NH for the weekend to ski. Saturday was a GREAT ski day. wasn't too cold, conditions were awesome. However, MIL broke her arm on the moguls
I stayed at the condo with her yesterday (I wasn't planning on skiing anyway) so that FIL and DH could go back to the mountain.
We came home late afternoon yesterday and watched the Olympics.
I didn't work AT ALL this weekend which was awesome! A much needed break
Don't worry, I still haven't seen it and probably won't for awhile. I hardly ever go out to see movies, though. I just watch at home when something is on TV and I have free time.
My weekend was very nice. Friday night we went out dancing in Boston with some of my family, then I spent the rest of the weekend doing laundry! We just got a new washer and dryer delivered on Friday so I had 6 weeks worth of dirty clothes piled up and ready to go. I have never been so happy to do laundry before in my life. The sunny weather was nice too. I am not pleased with the forecast for the rest of this week.
Sorry, didn't mean to be cryptic. I posted about it in Jenny's "Dear Rock" post below...in short, DH got laid off on Friday. Didn't feel like creating a whole separate post about it, but the good thoughts that have been offered are appreciated.
Rock- I'm so sorry!
MrsT- your poor MIL! I hope she isn't in too much pain
Oh that really really sucks. I hope he is able to find something else quickly. Did he get a severance package at all?
MrsT - your poor MIL! I hope she isn't in too much pain.
Thanks, everyone, for the support. He did get some severance plus they're covering COBRA for a couple of months, so that's good. I just need to nail down one of these jobs I'm interviewing for before that time period is up. Third round for one of them is Wednesday, so fingers crossed.
Friday night DH and I went out for a really nice unexpected dinner to La Campania in Waltham. It's expensive but worth it. If you are ever looking for a nice place I would definitely recommend it. www.lacampania.com We sat by the kitchen so it was cool watching all the fancy meals being made. DH and I really haven't had much quality time together recently so we had a bottle of wine and just had a great time. It was really nice.
I drove into NYC for my cousin's 30th. We started at a spa where I got a manicure and back massage. Once we were all done we went to eat at www.josiesnyc.com. It was delish. They are all organic and the food was so good. I got a frozen pink champagne sangria drink that was SO yummy. The entire meal and drink was $20, I was shocked! Afterwards we got cupcakes at a NYC famous bakery www.magnoliabakery.com. We brought them back to my other cousin's apartment and hung out there for the night.
Sorry that was kinda long.
Rock - I'm really sorry to hear the news! Thinking of you and hoping he can find a job that suits him quickly.
Nah, we sat nehind the UNC bench a few rows up. Horrible game, I felt bad for my H, he's such a fan and it's the only game he gets to see live!
DH & FIL are super UNC fans as well... they were bummed too! He looks forward to this game all year long. They were excited to sit next to other UNC fans so I thought it'd be funny if it was you!
