I posted this on E08, but I know people here fear that board!
So, after he said he was suspending his campaign, he went on CBS news, and then spoke at the Clinton Global Initiative.
According to blogs I'm reading and Rachel Maddow last night, he was still airing ads and his website was still up and running and taking donations. People on E08 also say they saw ads yesterday in Florida and Missouri.
Maddow also reported that campaign staffers (not senate staffers) accompanied him to all his Hill meetings.
And Palin was at the 9/11 memorial yesterday, touring and taking questions.
So, what *exactly* did he do to suspend his campaign?
Re: Did McCain ever really suspend his campaign?
Um....
His campaign offices were open in Ohio. In fact, some staff members didn't even know the campaign was suspended.
Source: DH's friend who called 12 of his offices. 10 did not know the campaign was suspended.
He canceled the Letterman show. And as far as I know he was in Washington yesterday.
I never got the impression his entire campaign was shutting down, just that McCain would not personally campaign anywhere during the suspension.
not a damn thing.
