I just threw my bouquet away. Poll

Sad.

It was moldy.  Orchids and callas don't dry so well.

  • I think we tossed mine the day we returned from the honeymoon.
  • I always wanted to preserve it.  I've seen so many beautiful and creative ways to do it (shadow boxes, incorporating the petals into custom art work, etc.), but sadly when it came time to make the decision yay or nay I opted against it because we just didn't have the money for anything professional.  I've never had luck drying flowers on my own either.  In the end it was ok...my bouquet ended up being rather simple (pretty regardless), but not as extravagant or big as I originally planned.

  • Mine has been tossed but not by me. I was drying it in the laundry room and DH decided to "clean it out" well he didn't know what it was cause it was at that yucky smelly stage so he chunked it. I was upset but it really wasn't practical to keep it and I know it would have gotten thrown away evetually. So I tried not to be too upset about it.

  • My MIL threw mine away while we were on our honeymoon, because she's a douche.

    This.

  • I tossed parts of mine Saturday during the move. Mine had a lot of things that weren't live so it still looks ok. It's in a wedding box now.
  • My aunt tried to hang it upside down and try it out for me but it didn't turn out so well.  We tossed it when we got back from the honeymoon.
  • I took mine with us on our honeymoon so I could enjoy it as long as possible. I didn't have any plans on drying it and figured I paid enough money for it that it was silly to let it sit at home for two weeks while we were gone.

I took it with us when we went to Downtown Disney and have a couple of pictures with it and Disney characters. We also went on a cruise so I have pictures of it on the balcony with different ports in the background. By the end of the cruise it was looking pretty sad. DH wanted to throw it over the balcony into the ocean but I was afraid that we would get in trouble for throwing stuff off the ship (yeah DH still teases me about this) so we just left it in the room when we left.

  • I think my mom kept mine, but it got thrown out eventually. It was one of the flower arrangements at the brunch the next day and that's the last time I saw it.
  • I dried the roses because the rest wouldn't have kept. I wrapped the 4 of them in the ribbon that was around it and had it on my dresser for about 9 months and then the cat got a hold of it...

DH's bout looks awesome though, it's on a shelf the cat can't reach! And I saved the brown curly things from my bouquet that weren't alive.

  • I gave mine to my grandma during the reception, lol. I think I win for shortest time since dinner hadn't even ended.
  • My MIL tried to dry it for me, but it just didnt work out.

we do have one of the guys corsages in a shadow box

  • My mom tossed mine while we were on our honeymoon but called me first before she did. It got smushed on the car ride from the reception to home so I didn't care. She did pressed a few of the roses in her bible.

  • I had artificials (and none pro - my mom did the flower arrangements for me, my brother, and my dbag sister), so I still have it. We got a china cabinet from his aunt and uncle b/c they were re-modeling their kitchen and his uncle built a new one, so I've currently made it a display for wedding items (i.e. bouquet/bout, cake topper, toasting glasses, etc).
  • I'm one of those who shed out the extra $400 to have it preserved. But I'm I did it! I love it and I'll have it for years to come! It is in a enclosed black atrium sitting on top of our bookshelf headboard. DH says it looks like a head of lettuce...but I just call him ridiculous! Big Smile
  • I ditched it during the reception :P. I have pics - that's all I need!
  • My aunt laid my bouquet and my moms as well on my Nana's grave for us . .  .

I would have loved to have kept it, but it meant more to me that it went to my Nana.

    That's a really sweet idea.

  • Mines still in a spare room upstairs with lots of my other wedding stuff. When we clean up that room though, I'll probably toss it. It's still in nice condition though.
  • I tossed mine off the back of the cruise ship on the last day of our honeymoon!
  • I had silk flowers (yeah, I know, shoot me now etiquette police).  I ended up cutting it apart and putting it in a shadow box with our announcements.  I like the way it turned out.
