Ladies who have sold WR items

I would like to sell my dress and am curious where you listed your items and had the best luck.  I listed my dress on the Trash to Treasure board, Wedding Bee and Project Wedding.  I'm thinking about listing it on Craig's list but it seems like you get a lot of weirdos responding.  What do you think?

Re: Ladies who have sold WR items

  • I haven't had any luck on craigslist yet...the 1st time around I got so much spam it was ridicilous. I just had a lady interested 2 weeks ago but then we got hit with that snow and she never emailed me back to reschedule.  I see so many girls who list their wedding dresses in my local area and their always re-posting them so its like their a dime a dozen.  We have a local consignment shop called 'if these dresses could talk' maybe you could check to see if you have something similar in your area.
    Married 6/10/09 in Bermuda.
  • Thanks, I'll look into it.  I'm concerned a consignment shop would want to give me nothing for it but it's worth checking out.
  • I use and love Craigslist in San Diego, but I find whenever I post something in Minneapolis I get spammed.  I have no clue why they seek out people on some boards but not on others.  I'd check how active your local is.  If several other people are listing their dresses, I'd post yours.  If there aren't many, I'd try other places.  Maybe the local paper?

  • I listed my dress on the Trash to Treasure board and sold it almost immediately with no problem.  GL!
  • I would also try obviously the DW board but also your local board too. I think having a link in your bio can help. I didn't even think about selling my dress and someone randomly contacted me about wanting to buy it. GL

  • I have sold items on both the TTT board and craigslist. I haven't tried to sell my dress yet though. GL!

  • I sold all of my WR items to DW brides, but I didn't sell my dress.  A co-worker of mine bought her dress pre-owned and she used these sites to look for it:
