Happy Tuesday ladies.
How is everyone today?
I had quite the emotional morning at the gym today. Yesterday I posted on FB about needing people to donate to my Relay Team in my friend Kelly's honor. This morning at the gym a few FB friends came up to me and handed me $5 bills. I almost cried. Other people (non-FB friends) were asking why they were handing me 5s and when they heard why they said they would be bringing me cash later this week.
Re: Morning!
Good morning.
That's great to hear about the donations.
Morning!
That's great news about your donations Mandy.
It must've been kind of a comical scene, for onlookers, Mandy - people just walking around handing you money!
I'm doing good this morning - a little sleepy. I'm dreading this day/week - it's supposed to be our busiest time of the month and everyone's taking their sweet time getting me what needs to be sent in (this means I'll be INSANELY busy Thursday-Friday. Thursday is kind of a half day here in the office for a corporate event and I have to leave early Friday for P/T.)
Morning girls, thats great to hear Mandy
I am doing good this morning, except I swear I wake up everyday more tired than the day before!
Well, it's funny you say that Paula! MH looked at me at one point and said "Um, are we needy?" HAHA.
Good morning! LOL, Mandy I can just imagine.
Speaking of, I've decided to run the Race for a Cure breast cancer 5k here in April. I've never done a fundraising event before, so this'll be interesting. If it goes well, I'm going to do Relay for Life too (I hope, my running friends don't seem too fond of running for 15 hrs - or whatever it is - even if it's a relay).
.: Diary of a Recovering Runner :.
Val: Relay for Life is a little different than a regular race or walk. At least here (I'm not sure about all the relays) it is. We just have to have one team member on the track at all times walking around. We also have a booth set up to sell things and fundraise.
That's how it is here too...but I'm having issues getting enough people signed up b/c we'll each have to take a turn at an overnight section of the relay. We'd each have to do a couple of hours (at least) but considering all of us can run for 5 1/2 hrs+ in a marathon, I didn't think it'd be a big deal. I may be able to get a few people together and we'd each prob end up running 20+ miles, which I'm fine with but I need to put more thought into it before signing up.
My coach's husband did the entire thing by himself last year in preparation for a hardcore 100 mile race (100 mi races are hardcore to begin with, but this one is over mountains in CO).

Val: I'm pretty sure I haven't run 100 miles in my life. That's crazy.
Relay is really fun. I love doing it.
And side note (putting it here because I don't want to start another AW post)....I just had a $500 donation to my relay team! I'm sitting in my office crying. I just blew past my original goal so I had to up it.
