Now that was a game!

I rather enjoyed the women's hockey game last night.  Compared with the men's game the night before, the women did so much better.  The other team played hard til the end, and they deserve a lot of credit.  Looks like the women need to show the men how to play!

Re: Now that was a game!

  • Don't get me wrong, I love womens hockey - I play it.  I love watching Canada vs. US.   The problem is 95% of the other teams are not competetive.  Finland is the closest team to the top 2, but they're still not there.  They tried really hard and at least made it appear that it was a decent game - but could only muster a handful of shots and had a goal who stood on her head.

This was at least the first women's game of the tournament for Canada that I could handle watching.  Really the the Women's hockey tournament is a one game event - Thursday night.

Anyway, I was just ranting because you can't compare the women's performance last night to anything done by the men - the competition is so drastically different.  Women's international hockey is no where near where Men's is.  (Heck, I think the women's team would have more trouble playing against some of the other teams within Canada.)

  • I did enjoy the game.  I was, however, disappointed when Apps laid out that Finnish player late in the 3rd.  It did not appear that Apps was really going for the puck but rather that she was going in to hit.   Now I'm off to work!
