Need to vent

I just got home and got the mail and there was the 6th bill for my miscarriage. I have a record of every month when I call the insurance company and tell them to pay and they say that they will and then two-three weeks later I get another bill. I am SOOOO angry and just stirs up all those bad emotions again. Flucking bastardos

  • I'm sorry about that! Insurance companies are such a PITA. I remember when I had my appendix out we had to fight for a bunch of stuff, and it took about a year to get it all straightened out. They just don't want to pay for anything, which makes me wonder why we have to pay them so dang much. When I moved jobs I got much better insurance than we had before, so I don't have any complaints about my current company, but the last one was horrible. Good luck with it, I know it has got to be hard to deal with.

  • This was supposed to be good insurance, it's our LSU plan. I really am trying not to cry.

  • Is the bill for something they are going to pay for, or is it the coinsurance amount? After you straightened it out with the insurance company, did the doctor's office refile the claim? That might help. I wish I had something better to offer, but really, they get it wrong quite often.

Sorry that you are having to deal with this. I know you are ready to close that chapter and move on.

  • Excellent point, this is actually the doctor's bill from the ER. It was intialy declined due to be out of network. When I called the insurance company and explained it was an ER visit they agreed to pay it, and asked that the doctor refile. In December I called the office and they said they would refile since then the insurance company has declined it twice for the same reason mentioned above. I think it's time for some faxing.

I am feeling better now, just angry. But I got an adorable shirt today that I've wanted for a while, so yeah for that.

  • I had my wisdom teeth taken out in January 2006 and yesterday the doctors office sent me a bill for $295.00 for that surgery. It was definitely paid. Needless to say they will be getting a bitchy phone call from me once I put the whitster down!
