Last night I had a dream that there was a lion in the living room. DH and I were in the bedroom. Every time we wanted to get past the lion we would throw some bacon to it. The last thing I can remember of the dream was we only had one package of bacon left and I was thinking I need to save one piece of bacon so I could get past the lion to go to work in the morning.
I normally have very vivid but mixed up dreams like this. Usually they are just strange and don't make sense but not scary. Once I had a dream that my grandma (then in her 70's) had to move to Kentucky because that was the only state that would sell someone her age birth control pills.
What are some of your strangest dreams?
Re: Lion in the Living Room?
I usually can't remember my dreams. DH always asks what I dreamnt about since he says I talk in my sleep and even sit up. I however never remember, lol.
That's funny about your dreams. I especially like the grandma one, lol.
Haha! Poor Grandma, that would stink!
I have weird dreams, but I always forget them shortly after I wake up. When I was little, I always had the same scary dream about the Big Bad Wolf hunting me and my sisters and sucking our guts out with the vacuum cleaner. Maybe that's why I don't like to vacuum. . .
Anyway, I decided I couldn't let the goat roam the streets of NYC so I brought it into the apartment and tried to call the police or the ASPCA. Then the goat and I hung out. And then Tina Fey wrote a musical episode of 30 Rock about the experience. It was really good.
Makes perfect sense to me....now just make sure you contact Tina Fey's people so you get the royalties for each time the episode of 30 Rock airs!!!
I just woke up from a pretty vivid dream where a boyfriend of a friend I had in highschool was riding around on a motorcycle shooting a beebee gun all over the place trying to hit people, I think woke up.
a&g-the dream about your grandma trying to get birth control is quite funny.
aaaaaaaaaaaaaahahahahaha A&G that is too funny...totally random and totally in line with the type of dreams I have!
most of my dreams are just wierd, very vivid....but sometimes they get super scary
2 nights ago I dreamnt that a bunch of gang member barged into our house and killed DH and Ladmo right in front of me. I was begging for them not to kill me when I woke up! SO SCARY! Ive been all paranoid about it ever since.
I would be paranoid too. That is a horrible dream. The last scary one like that that I had was a few years ago. I was working in a clothing store and some biker type guys come in and start playing around with the clothes. I get annoyed with them and ask them if I can help them. That is when one guy pulls a gun on me and says to give him the money in the cash register. I give him the money and then close my eyes knowing that he is going to shoot me. I remember being terrified and thinking this is what it is going to feel like to die. I woke up literally scared stiff.
I'll take a lion in the living room dream to that any day!
It is so weird how our minds don't shut off even when we sleep.
I usually don't have weird dreams like that, but my dad does. Here are some of his more interesting ones -
1.) He went outside one day and could see a plane in the sky writing smoke letters. The letters spelled out Russian words that only my dad could read. They told him to go to church.
This resulted in him going to church with us for maybe a month and then he stopped going again. He's not anti-religion, but uses weekends to do maintenance on the commercial rental properties he owns.
2.) He was building cabinets in our kitchen. A rhino escaped from the zoo and somehow got into my parents' house. It chased him up onto the top of the cabinets he was building.
He says the dream was so vivid he could feel the hot breath on his legs. In reality, there was probably a cat lying on his feet while he was sleeping.
I wish I had weird dreams.
Lately all I've dreamed about are weird meetings/encounters with my Dad (died 10 months ago) and about the Baby.
I keep having dreams that we have a happy, healthy baby - but we have NO idea how to take care of it.
I actually checked out 4 how-to books from the library yesterday.
TTC #1 13 cycles, CP 6/09, TTC #2 1 cycle
CDing, EP'd for 13 months for #1, BFing for #2
Pregnancy Hypertension - inductions at 39w, I grow big babies: DD was 9 pounds 1 ounce 22 inches, DS was 11 pounds even 22 inches - both vaginal deliveries
My dad died almost 10 yrs ago. For months after he died I had dreams where I would have conversations with him. I would just talk to him like I did when he was alive. Telling him all about what happened that day and about mom and stuff like that. They were some of the best dreams ever because they were so real. Right after I woke up for just a brief second I would forget he was gone. After a while those dreams stopped but every once in a while I will still have them. They are kind of like a gift.
I'm sure it is very normal to have dreams and fears about raising a Baby but I know you guys are going to be great parents!
Last week, I had three nights of dreams about my grandfather who passed away 5 years ago. It makes me miss him more, but it's nice to "have" him again in some small way.
Since I'm down to like 5 hours of sleep at night because of the Drunk Chick, I don't remember my dreams lately.
The last really vivid one I recall was sometime around the wedding. I was cheating on J with J, 100 lbs ago. We were in some kind of RV on a trip.
When I was very little, I had a recurring dream about being rescued by Beastmaster from a hell-looking place. I had another recurring one about the frozen food section of the grocery store, which happened to have a grand staircase that Prince Charming would walk down.
And when I was 11 or so, I had a horrifying one about a gang taking over our house. I woke up in a sweat from that one.
