The real estate agent we used when we bought our house just gave us tickets to "tour of kitchens"! I'M SO EXCITED! We get to see 14 kitchens in 2 days all over the city! I'll take pictures!

Kitchen expos are right up there with free margaritas, free starbucks, and spa days in terms of excitement level....

I've heard of it done a couple ways. One is literally held in a convention center by contracting companies and kitchen supply companies who literally build mini kitchens for display purposes. People go, get decor/design ideas, and in theory, hire contractors.
The other way, which I think is more like what Dana's talking about, is like a home tour... where people go and visit different kitchens in different houses (much for the same purpose as the expo).
In other words: lots of dream kitchens.
