    This bothers me less than transactions where the public gets screwed though.  I don't believe any taxpayer money was lost in the sale to JP Morgan Chase, was it? 

    ETA:  Oops, I see it was worth an estimated $310b and sold for $1.9b.   Guess that is a big public loss.  Now I'm mad.

  • I think the stockholders or whoever owns that company should sue to get it back. It looks like WaMu guaranteed the money. I don't know if that means it was a legal contract or what. That strikes me as gross mismanagement and I think there should be a legal recourse for the people hurt by it.
  • The man signed a contract. They wanted him, they had to pay to get him. I'm not mad he was smart enough to guaranty his money.

    For some reason I get the feeling I'm going to be posting a ton of articles  on executive compensation soon... (on our knowledge management sharepoint site)

    I don't mean this at all snarkily, but why did you quote me and say this? Are you saying that I'm misunderstanidng exec compensation? If so, please correct me!?
