vacation advice!!!

Hey girls!!! Sorry I've been so MIA... work has been miserable and it looks like I won't have a job next school year so stressful is an understatement!

Anyway... Spring Break is a month away and I have decided I MUST get away some place warm and beachy!!! We need to think budget (especially if we're going to only have one income soon), so I'm looking for a good deal!

Please recommend any places or deals you know of??? I'm trying to search online but haven't found any great deals yet...

TIA!!!

Re: vacation advice!!!

  • try www.cheapcaribbean.com  they have a lot of good deals.
  • I liked Key west and we found super cheap flights to Miami. The beaches on key west aren't that great, but the atmosphere is and there is a good beach not far at Bahia Honda state park (another Key). I would guess lots of other FL places would also be affordable.
  • We are going to Mexico for our anniversary this summer. It proves to be by far the most inexpensive (yet beautiful vaca.). Our budget is always VERY small but I've been to the Royal Solaris in Cancun 3 times. It is by no means a 5-star hotel but it's all inclusive with amazing views, fun poolside staff, and very laid back! We booked our vaca through Orbitz & with a $200 coupon code (200Entertain), it was about $850/pp with airfare and an all-inclusive stay (7 nights/8days.). If you have any other questions, let me know!
  • Tybee Island, GA outside of Savannah is not a well known beach so it won't be flooded with Spring breakers.  The island is laid back and affordable.  There are dolphin tours, kayak trips and a pier.  Savannah is just down the road if you get the urge for culture.
  • From what I hear Hawaii is really hurting right now and their tourism is way down. My mom was there in October and said her hotel was at 8% capacity and they were giving people upgrades to fill the better rooms.

Every time we go we rent a condo through VRBO though so I'd check that too, regardless of where you end up going!

  • Thanks ladies! I'm still on the search! Thinking about a short cruise out of Miami since I've found cheap tickets there and have some friends to stay with in the area... but haven't found a cruise that lines up with my timeline/budget!
