Who drinks tea? I have questions.
Coffee makes me jittery so I only treat myself a couple times a month. But I was thinking of trying hot tea in the mornings.
What is your favorite?
4 minutes seems to be the agreed upon steeping time? Agree/disagree?
What do you add in, if anything?
TIA!
Re: Who drinks tea? I have questions.
DH is british so he has converted me to milk in my tea. I take mine with milk and one equal. Yummy! Other than plain english tea I really like chai and make that at home with milk sometimes too. I find it needs to brew longer than regular tea though. HTH!
Doesn't tea have more caffeine than coffee though?
It depends on my mood... I never put sugar in my tea so none of the below have sugar added. Here's what I usually enjoy:
Trader Joe's Organic Cranberry Green Tea. I drink it plain. It is really sweet on its own and I don't think it needs sugar.
Chai Tea (I like the Tazo brand best). I will add milk to it sometimes so it's more like a Chai Tea Latte. It's *really* good hot.
Peppermint Tea with a little honey added to it.
I've never timed the steeping. I usually just boil a pot and add a few bags to it and take the bags out when the water looks dark.
I really don't know. I think it depends on the type of tea maybe?
I make sweet tea for DH and when I drink that I never get the jitters like I do with coffee.
This is usually the one that DH and I buy. I really l like it. All of the other flavors of this brand are good too. I usually just put 1 Splenda in mine.
Here is some info to compare the caffeine in coffee and tea

I would check the packaging on anything you buy, but black tea generally has more caffeine than green tea and herbal tea is usually caffeine free. These are the three types I drink most, so not sure how other teas compare.
I will put sugar or honey in my tea, depending on the flavor.
I got a CS fruit tea sampler pack yesterday. I haven't tried the raspberry yet. I drank the Wild Berry this morning and it was good. A little tart, but I added in some honey that took the edge off without being too sweet.
