Wedding Photo Albums - I Need Inspiration!

Ladies... I know several of you have made your own wedding albums and were able to post links to view them.  Can you provide the links again?  I'm working on mine and I need inspiration!  TIA! :)

Re: Wedding Photo Albums - I Need Inspiration!

  • Just wondering, did you all use "high resolution" photos to make your albums?
  • Ya I'm thinking I'm not going to have my photographer make our album/order any prints and use that money to purchase the high res cd.  Just make it myself...
  • Yeah its nice to pick out your own pix and layouts.  Picaboo (what I used) and MyPublisher are both good and have a lot of different layouts.  I designed a few of my pages myself in Photoshop because the layouts offered weren't what I wanted.

I am still resolving problems with the professional album I paid to upgrade from my photog.  He took forever to do anything, then switched the book on me (which ended up being less pages/less images).  And I hated his first layout.

While this is a high quality "lay flat" book, I like the parent albums I made so much better!

  • Ya I have MyPublisher and Blurb, I can easily make my own.  Just don't want to email my photographer to ask "if we don't get this this and this....can we have our high res cd instead?"....I don't like the possibility of NO....uh...

I LOVE yours way more!  You could do them for other people!  I have to do my parent album and would hire you in a second!

My baby girl is a married woman...and now my baby girl HAS a baby girl. Time unfolds in such an amazing way. I've been blessed!

Jamlsull - did you have any problems uploading your photos to Picaboo?  I have all of my high res photos in a folder on my computer, but when I browse to that folder and pick "select all," the program freezes and I have to restart.  It seems like I can pick a couple at a time, but that will take me forever.  Did you have this problem?

    Everyone else - thanks!!! :)

I think I remember it being kind of slow when I was adding pix.  I don't know if it actually froze or not.  I had seperated all my pix into folders, like getting ready, formal shots, etc.  So I think I just added those as I worked on the book, so I didn't add all my pix at once.  Maybe just try adding them little by little & don't add ones you know you won't use.

In case you're still watching this thread... I got so fed up last night that I e-mailed customer service.  Sometimes I couldn't even get 1 photo without it freezing!  The reply e-mail was very nice and helpful.  She thinks it's partially because of Windows 7 - DH just got me a new lappy for Valentine's. :)  They have a beta version that she sent me the link to that she thinks will work.  They're realeasing it as their next "version" in a month or so.  I'll be trying it tonight! :)
