Some of you have asked how it went! We had dinner with my dad, brother (who already knew) and ILs on Sunday night. I gave my dad and FIL a card, saying that, because it was confirmed that I would not be joining them (I told them I couldn't get time off from work), I wanted to give them a little something for good luck. My dad's a slots player so he got the card shown below. My FIL is a craps player so he got a slightly different one saying, "Bring home the Golden Arm, Grandpa!"

Both dad and FIL got all hung up on the cover of the card, commenting on the LV sign and saying that they're hoping to see some royal flushes on this trip. I told them they had to read what was inside. Everyone liked the measly dollar bill I attached, which led to more comments. Then, my FIL said out loud, "Bring back the Golden Arm...yeah! Don't worry, I'm going to!" He totally didn't read the "Grandpa" part! I looked over to my dad who pointed to the "ETA" part and asked, "What does ETA mean?" LOL! I looked back to FIL and said, "No, read it out loud again." He kind of whispered to himself, "Bring. Back. The. Golden. Arm. Grrraaandpa...? Love. Baby. Teeeee...?" A huge grin crossed his face, he looked over to MIL and said, "Ooh, you're going to like this."
Finally, everyone caught on to what was happening and we all had a good laugh about how long it took. There was no crying (I thought MIL or my dad might cry), but there was just joy all around. And there was already a lengthy post-dinner discussion about baby names. I was not included in this discussion. ![]()

Thanks, mie! Feeling a little, tired, but I can't tell if it's because of being PG or it's my body still recovering from the accident. One thing I know is not from the accident are my sore BBs! They finally showed up on Monday night.
No m/s, yet. I also have routine blood work done every 3 months. Since I was at the doctor's the day of my accident, they decided to draw blood then. I got the results back yesterday and for some reason my cholesterol went up about 40 points from about 6 months ago (my eating slipped during the holidays, but I thought it would level out by now) and my Vitamin D nose-dived into "Rickets territory" as my doctor put it. Ugh! I'm already taking 4000 IU Vit D per day and now my doctor wants me to take 6000 IU/day. We'll see how my levels are in 2 months. I wonder if the pregnancy has anything to do with that....
This part cracked me up.
Glad it went well but LOL @ how long it took them to realize!
I love Hawaii!

The funny thing is that Brian specifically told me to bring my p&s camera so he could shoot video of their reactions. After it was all over, I saw our camera sitting untouched in its case. Oh well.
I hope you don't experience any m/s! Sorry to hear about your cholesterol and the Vitamin D deficiency.
awesome! this is story for the baby book for sure!
