I don't brag often but this was so cute I had to share!
My husband is just leaving for work. He's a coffee addict and can't function this early in the morning without a big thermos full of coffee. He's also very forgetful so he often leaves it on the counter and suffers all day because of it (he gets the caffeine withdrawl headaches- not healthy, I'm sure).
So he's walking out the door and my son starts calling him. My husband peeks his head back in the door and my son drags a stool into the kitchen, pulls the forgotten thermos off the counter, and lugs it over to my husband. "Coffee!" he says. Too funny! He saw it on the counter and knew that his daddy was supposed to have it with him when he left. It was super cute.

Awww, that is really cute!
I was thinking about you the other day - did you ever get to the bottom of his medical issues?
Not yet. We have been down to Children's twice- once to see someone in Biochemical Diseases (which is who the pediatrician who discovered the problem referred us to) and once to Neurology (who his replacement referred us to). Neurology had nothing to say (as I figured they would, I never did think it was a neurological problem) but Biochemical Diseases was very concerned. They ran more x-rays and a ton of tests, including some type of DNA analysis that takes a loooooong time to process. We were there five weeks ago and the tests still aren't back (I called the other day to make sure). They're looking for glitches in his genetic make up.
He's doing well, though. For a while his height and weight was hovering at the 5th percentile (his head was at 97th), but he went through a bit of a growth spurt and he's more like 25th now, which is a lot better. So we're just waiting. We're not that worried, though- the docs at Biochemical Diseases assured us (as did the good pediatrician) that all the nasty things are ruled out.
