Re: Saw this on the Buying a Home Board

  • Surprise

Two stories to go along with this thread from our house hunt:

DH went to see one w/o me.  The owners had prospective buyers/agents use the garage keypad to enter the house.  So, DH and REA open the garage door, and discover on a half garage step (the width of the 2 car garage but 1/2 the length) a laundry sink and a toilet.  A fully functioning, plumbed toilet.  We did have a picture, but I think DH deleted it. Tongue Tied

I went to a foreclosure with our REA. We go through the screened front porch where there is a swimming pool.  The REA even said to me, I don't know how they even got this permitted.  Then we went inside and discovered it smelled.  Really smelled.  Like something had died in there.  Instead someone had been using the toilets and not flushing.  Ick!

  • First house we looked at in Santa Ana:  Windows on the outside of the house that were walled up inside.

Second house we looked at in Santa Ana:  A stove that had clearly been on fire at some point.

House we looked at last weekend:
    Living Room: Mustard
    Dining Room/Kitchen: Neon Blue
    Bath: Canary Yellow
Hallway: Neon blue with neon green cabinets
    Master: Fuchia
    Master bath: spruce green
    Paint fetish!!!!!!!!!!

House I saw years ago in "Beverly Hills Adjacent": 1980's "Boudoir" photos featuring the current owners.  HI-larious.

  • hahah I wish we had a camera follow us around in the hunt.

We saw one house, that I was so creeped out I was on the verge of tears and begging to leave.

We had walked through the whole house, we went back into the master bedroom, it was sooo big. Dh says, This room gives me the creeps...The agent and I agree. (side note: The bedroom had a huge closet that ran the length of one wall that was ll mirrored doors, then on the wall across from it there were more floor to ceiling mirrors) The agent says, this mirror looks weird (It was one on the none closet wall) She says, it looks like it doesnt belong here...Dh walks over, pulls on it...it moves but is hard to open, tugs on it harder...it comes WIDE open to reveal a hidden room, with a hidden gun safe and a coffin shapped box nailed shut. I went tearing out of there.

OH, and did I mention this house had no electricity so we were in there with flash lights, as the sun had just gone down....creepy
