Sea World trainer killed...

Re: Sea World trainer killed...

  • So sad.  I can't imagine the people who witnessed it as well.
  • And I can't believe that this particular killer whale has already been involved in 2 other human deaths.  Hello?  Obviously not a good idea to hang out with him!  But, sadly, he would die in the wild since they have kept him in captivity for so long....catch 22.

That's debatable, though.  I read the article in the paper this morning and it sounded like for the first fatality they had no idea of the three whales who did it.  And the second one, how the man got into the water is unknown.  He was bruised, but died of hypothermia and was on the whale's back.  I'm projecting, but I do wonder if the whale was trying to save him.

I most definitely don't think he is purposely killing people.  He is a massive animal that must be treated as such.  I would be willing to bet a lot of money that he was simply playing with them, but he does not (and should not responsible) to know his own strength or the limitations of humans (more fragile, can't hold breath as long, etc).
