Wilmington Ladies-Help!

This weekend we are heading to Ft. Fisher Aquarium for DD 1st birthday (party is next weekend).

Do you have suggestions for lunch on Sunday? We are doing dinner at Boca Bay, early like at 5:00 and I am hoping it is OK to take a baby to.

Any suggestions would be great!

Re: Wilmington Ladies-Help!

  • What kind of food do you want?  Which part of town are you staying in?

  • We are staying near Wrightsville Beach, at the Country Inn and Suites. We go to Wilmington a lot but we have never been with our DD, and we usually just go to dinner, and not lunch. We are just looking for a casual non chain type of place. We went somewhere last time, but I cannot think of the name, it was like a sandwich/bakery type place.

  • Trolley Stop!!!!!  Looooove their hot dogs!  There's really no place to sit, unless it's warm outside, then they're are plenty of picnic tables.
  • How about Sweet & Savory?  It's right near Boca Bay.

  • YES-Sweet and Savory, that was it!

No place to sit doesn't work with a baby that needs a highchair and food cut up! But that sounds good, I'll have to look into it.

  • You could also try Salt Works...it's not that far away and is a good little lunch place.

  • I second Sweet and Savory.  MUST GET A CROISSANT!!!!!  YUMMMM.  I would head there around the "bunch" hour, because by lunch the line gets a little longer.  Boca Bay also has a WONDERFUL brunch if you decide not to go there for dinner.
  • I LOVE Sweet and Savory!  I didn't catch which day you're doing the Aquarium, but if you're going to be in the Monkey Junction area I adore Rucker Johns.  It is so good.  Especially their chicken plates.

I also recommend Bluewater and Fish House Grille at Wrightsville Beach.

  • Thanks ladies. I will write everything down. We do love Blue Water, I am tempted to go back, but Boca Bay looks really good.

  • We ate at the causeway cafe.  It was very chill and we loved it.

  • I also love all the suggestions these other ladies came up with.  Why is when someone asks me where to eat, I draw a blank?
