Re: hi!

  • ~~**~~**~~~pretty house dust~~~**~~**~~ for you! Oh, and good luck!

My world is fun. I'm crazy stressed about $. New tires and getting dog neutered in the same month killed me! I'm hoping things will turn around by the end of next month (5 paydays in March!) but I know I'm going to be stressed about money while we're in Vegas. :(  I just need a couple months of nothing big or exciting or expensive happening. Is that too much to ask?!

ETA: And yes I missed you yesterday!

We have so much time, and so little to do! Strike that, reverse it.

  • DH came home yesterday saying he had a meeting he couldn't miss in the morning, so I'm going to go to class today and then we're going to spend the afternoon at Disneyland!  It's been raining, so hopefully it won't be too crowded.
  • hi mamie! ::waves:: It's awesome that you are house hunting! I wish you tons of luck!!

Nothing going on it my world. I guess that is a good  thing. Aside from work and extracurriculars life is good. DH is traveling quite a bit for work this winter but sometimes I kind of enjoy a little time alone.

  • I'm just excited about a little trip to PA in 8 days.

Other than that, nothing big :)

  • hey Mames! i've been kinda sparse around here too lately. Good luck with offer #2!! So excited for you!!  :: Lots of extra house dust!! :: What is this house like??

I've been busy with work (being alone at the office), plus visiting my dad every day at the hospital. He was up and down for a few days but i heard he was pretty lively last night, even has his sense of humor back. The scary part isn't over yet b/c theyre still deciding how to remove the clot, surgery is still an option, but overall i'm feeling a little better about his situation.

We closed on the house on Tuesday, the big move is Saturday! Conveniently, this is going to be the biggest snowstorm of the year for upstate NY. Just Peachy.

Crazy busy here! Luckily my 2nd interview has been bumped back a few weeks...

Leigha, any word on the job you interviewed for a few weeks ago? I understand money stress -- tires and neutering are two big ones to have close together. :(  You just need to hit it big in Vegas.  Thanks for missing me!

  • ::house dust::

We get keys for the new apt. tomorrow.  Ahhh!  It still has not hit me that we are moving this weekend but I have had enough sense to pack.  MIL decided that she needs to see the place ASAP and will arrive on Mon. while I'm at work and DH has the day off.  I told DH it is fine but I do not want any "help" unpacking while I am not there. (I will not have my kitchen set up by someone who cannot and does not cook!)  Hopefully they'll only be there for a few min. and then go out to the mall or something.

And my interview went well on Tues. so I have assessment tests today and wait for the 2nd interview sometime in March.

Thanks for the house luck! This will be our second offer in two months, and we've seen 17 houses so far. We're doing another showing on Saturday so I can see it again and take pics, plus have my dad see it. Hope it doesn't sell before then. Things move too fast in my area right now.

Alone time is good. Very good. :)

Hey Meg, I've been thinking about you this week. Did things go smoothly at closing? I'll email you the house listing. ::moving dust:: to you!

Glad to hear your dad's improving. What have the drs said about long-term health? Does he have paraylsis?

  • lucky,

What does the new apt look like? Take some pics when you get settled!  And yeah, I wouldn't want my MIL touching my things w/o me there, no matter how bad a cook she may be. ;) Pack carefully if she does!!

    ::job dust:: for you!

  • This is so fast moving with everyone checking in.

Meg, glad your dad is doing better.  We're all still thinking about you.

Good luck with the house Mamie!

We closed yesterday on our new house and get to begin moving in Monday after the leaseback ends with the seller.  We met the seller yesterday, and she was very sweet and told us her gardens would bloom all year long and that we have a lot ot look forward to.  She also teared up when she mentioned moving after 12 years, so we tried to let her know how much we love the house and are looking forward to living there.

Sadly, I didn't get the job. The guy was really nice and explained that there was one other candidate more uniquely qualified. He actually has sent me two emails (one letting me know I didn't get it, and then another one letting me know why--basically to say it wasn't me, but the other gal had some unique experience he couldn't pass up). Sigh. On top of the tires and the dog, my car registration is due AND I finally got health insurance on my own and two months worth of premiums are due Monday.

Apparently one of our friends going to Vegas is awesome at craps, so I'm going to stand next to him and bet where he does!

I'll post pics soon.  We get to paint any walls we want so we are trying to decide what we want to do.  We know we are doing the baby's room and I have some fun ideas!

Megs - Glad to hear your dad is feeling better!

  • Megs -- glad your dad is doing better.

Mamie -- good luck with the offer... -**- lots of house dust -**-

As for me... nothing new - I'm swamped at work, have had a headache for 2 days, have to make 4 GALLONS of chili and 4 dozen cornbread muffins tonight and pack for our weekend trip to Gatlinburg.  But today is my Friday and I'm so looking forward to our weekend away from home.

  • Leigha--sorry about the job.  It's hard, but don't get discouraged.  Something good will come around.
  • Hi Mamie!

I actually did notice you didn't post yesterday. And I said something to one of my coworkers in the tutoring lab about "wondering where my friend mamie" was and they asked "who's that?" and it took me a second to figure out how to make myself sound like a non-crazy-person when responding.

I made a new header for my blog that you did such an excellent job helping me name :)

  • hawki, why so much chili???

lucky, you get to paint? Yay. I love apts that let you do that.

leigha, sorry to hear you didn't get it, but that was way cool of them to let you know other than give you a canned rejection.

SBS, aww, yeah, I was totally off the online radar last night. Poor angelfire almost sent out a search and rescue for me last night. No presence on my blog, twitter, FB, here.... sorry if I worried anyone. :)

    hawki, why so much chili???

Because it has to feed 29 people -- yikes!  Hope its good cause that is a lot of chili to ruin.

  • Good luck with the upcoming offer!

I've had a hellish week.  Packed up our entire house w/o DH as he's OOT for his work.  Am still sore and exhausted from head to toe.  Our closing is tomorrow, got the obligatory OMG phone call today...yay for a last minute garbage disposal issue that was found at the walk thru Angry

Am currently unpacking in the tiny new apt (we put 2/3 of our stuff in storage).  DH will be spending the weekend in Brazil...and I'll be unpacking.  We found out we're likely moving X-Country later this year.  No date yet, but is good to know the destination if nothing else.
