Help me out here! My sister's fiance is originally from England (they came to Canada when he was 7, his sis - aka nightmare BM - was 12). A bunch of his relatives are coming to Canada for their wedding in June and, because there are so many of them, a few are going to be staying at our house. I tought it might be fun, since the majority of them have never been to Canada before, to make up small bags or baskets of all things Canadian for them. I have come up with a few ideas: maple syrup, hand made soap, Canada pin...what else?
Re: Canadiana for guests?
Maple fudge? Maybe some Canada postcards for souvenirs or to send home to their friends or other family.
Poutine? but that might get messy....
Maybe you can pick up some cute Olympic/Canada stuff next week? I am sure it'll all be 1/2 price in no time.
what a nice idea!
for the kids I often put in pencils and erasers with canada flags on them (usually find some at dollarama) and for adults mini bottles of ice wine are a big hit too. coins are also a hit - maybe you can find olympic loonies to give them.
Maple leaf shaped sugar cookies? Tim's coffee cup or gift card?
Fun and cute idea btw!
