Need your help: regarding a job for my husband

DH has not work for the past 2 weeks. I know with the economy that is the norm for some people. However, DH works for his dad and they are usually ok this time of the year but, it has DH thinking seriously about his job and supporting us. He is self-employed through his dad's business.

We have been researching different companies and jobs for him. He has done roofing, siding, window installation, bathroom renovations, etc. Does anyone know of anyone who is hiring and has steady work and a well structured company? I would appreciate any leads or ideas you may have.

We would appreciate your thoughts and prayers as we go through this next step in our lives. Thank you.

  • I feel your pain, my husband has been on partial unemployment for over a year and a half.  Good luck to you and your DH, hopefully something will turn up soon.

  • I don't know of anywhere but good luck, I'll be sending good thoughts to you.

  • What about places like Lowes and Home Depot?  It seems like they would most likely be more secure and have steadier work than some smaller businesses.  Good luck to him!  I know how tough the job market is right now.  I'll definitely keep you in my thoughts.

  • Thanks girls for your thoughts! We are looking all over. The thing is he makes decent money with his dad but then we put 30% away for taxes which he doesn't take out for him. So I guess right now any money would be good until they are able to work again- hopefully in a few weeks. So it's good he 'has a job' but if he's not working it's hard. That's why we are looking for something else for him so we know he'll have work.
