if you use condoms....
I am currently on BCP and it is really affecting my sex drive, to say the least. I don't want these hormones in my body anymore. My husband has NEVER used a condom because when we met I was already on the pill. We won't be able to afford a baby for probably another year and a half, so its important that we find some other method of BC. My insurance doesn't cover any sort of BC so I really don't have a choice besides taking the pill or condoms. So it seems either I lose or he loses....it sucks.
So if you use condoms--what kind do you use? My husband wants one that feels closest to not using a condom at all. He says that condoms take away the feeling for him. I read reviews on the Kimono, Crown, and Pleasure Plus condoms and they all had great reviews. Does anyone use those? Also, is there any website that will let you order just a sample?

I recommend hitting up a Lover's or some other sex shop, getting a bunch of different kinds of condoms and trying them out til you find a few you like.

I was in the same spot you were, always on BC and couldn?t take the low sex drive any longer so I went off them. I went to condomdepot.com, they have variety packs that are too expensive. We liked how it gave you a few of each brand to test

We use Lifestyle Skyn. We tried many different types also and these work the best for us.
My insurance doesn't cover BC either but some pharmacies (ie. CVS and Walgreens), have their own in-store plans that will give you a discount.

a little off topic but...i started bcp when me and my dh started getting serious in the beginning and never used condoms. recently i went off the pills to get my body back to normal and maybe try to conceive later in the yr. so right now while my body is still trying to get back to normal, me and dh decided to try to use condoms. and there is such a big difference. i hate the feeling of it. but mostly, i think its a mental thing. i hate knowing there is this foreign thing in me. so now we're sort of doing what the pp said.. just charting. i know its not fool proof but if i was meant to have a baby now..so be it!

I've never used BC. So when when we were engaged it was "operation don't get knocked up." We used Trojans for that year. It was the best sex ever, he says so too. It made us feel like we were in high school using condoms and it was the first time he could come inside me.
Here in arkansas there is free BC through Dept of Human Services. I think just about anyone qualifies. Something to check into.
i have used a spermicide before, no condom, just 15 min to 3 hours before sex, insert one into your vagina, it dissolves and youre good to go. when i used this with one bf, he would still pull out to ***, but he wouldnt have to.
i prefer the encare, its easier to insert.
these definitly add to your wetness, and doesnt taste good so i would never go down on him when we used it. (but i also really disliked the latex taste too)
Trojan Ultra Thin, or any ultra thin condoms are the closest I've gotten to feeling like there is no condom.

My periods are really unpredictable so I have not starting using ovulation tracking for my BC method yet, but I have heard of the book mentioned above and I borrowed it from a friend. It's a smart method if you can be strict with temping and tracking.
I was temporarily taken off my insurance and didnt go get birth control so for the first time my finace and I had to give in to condoms, the alternative just wasnt worth it for us so weve tried a couple different kinds and if youre looking for a skin like feeling Trojan Ultrathin comes the closest to that, but caution...we cant use those any more because weve had so many rip during intercourse and we ended up having to go pay $50 for Plan B a couple times. Currently were using Trojan Ultra Pleasure with spermicidal lubricant and were happy with those for right now
