I need to get out more or something

The carpet cleaning dude is here doing my carpets right now. I'm ridiculously excited about this - we didn't get them done before we moved in, and I don't know when (or if) the previous owner last did it, so I'm all excited at the prospect of super clean carpets. Plus once this is done, we can start moving furniture into the nursery and I can actually start setting things up!

I need to get a life. Stick out tongue

Re: I need to get out more or something

  • you are not alone. The day we got our carpets cleaned, I woke up that morning with an excitement inside of me... like when it's my birthday or something. Clean carpets = Happy me. I understand you esp since you don't know if the carpets were cleaned before.
  • That IS exciting!
  • We SO need to get our carpet cleaned.  Go you!

Hello...I've been out of the house 5 times in the past month...twice was to the pediatrician...once was for sushi to celebrate v-day and the other two times was grocery shopping (one was a FAIL -- I ended up leaving and the other was sans bebe...)  I swear I feel like I've been in some weird time warp.

  • Oh man. The house we own (but is renting out right now) REALLY needs a carpet cleaning. I mean, the carpet is BLACK (not because of us!) and let's just say it's not supposed to be. But we're renting to a crew of college guys who didn't really care and wear shoes inside anyway, so I persuaded MH to hold off the carpet cleaning until after we stop renting the place. But they put huge rugs all over the problem areas, so it doesn't look as bad. But if we ever move back, we're just going to get new carpets. I know I will be SUPER excited about that. So I hear you on being excited about super clean carpets...especially with the babies on the way =)

We wear shoes inside, which I know is in the minority on this board. Embarrassed But honestly, the guy said that 90% of our dirt etc was from our two dogs and two cats (we vacuum all the time, but he was still stunned at the amount of cat hair that had worked its way down into the fibers), so I don't feel too bad about our shoes now lol.

Ideally, eventually we'd like to replace the carpet upstairs. The stuff in the living room downstairs is fairly new and nice, but the carpet in the bedrooms and on the stairs is fairly old and getting a bit tired. But since we can't afford it yet, cleaning is the next best option - and it does look a TON better!

  • Clean carpet IS something to get really excited about.  Smile
