Favorite Wine

DH and I are going to Total Wine today because we are out of wine and I always love trying new stuff. So what is your favorite bottle of wine?

Right now, I think mine has to be Boho Pinot Nior.

Re: Favorite Wine

  • Menage A Trois - it's a blend.  Really yummy and only like $9 a bottle.

Also Bogle's Petit Syrah is another fav!

  • I <3 bubbles & have been very into the Gruet from Total Wine lately.  It's a New Mexican sparkling, which sounds crazy, but the 3 I've tried have been really good.
  • For reasonably priced wines I like:

    Writer's Block Petit Syrah

    Shooting Star Chardonnay

    Rex Goliath Cabernet

  • Clos du Bois Chardonnay

I got this last time I was at TW, when they were having their tasting...I can't remember the exact name but it's a Cabernet Sauvignon from Paso Robles, CA.  It's got an orange label and the wine guy said it was one of their best sellers.  Maybe ask someone there?

  • Recently my dh and I went to a wine bar, and we were in the mood it try something new. My mom had given me a gift card to this place for my birthday, so we were excited to try something new. The wine is Schild Estates Shiraz. It is so yummy. We loved it so much, that the next day, when we got back from our visit, we searched to find it again. We actually found it in Harris Teeter. I recommend it to anyone who loves Shiraz.
  • Oh, and definitely ask a wine manager there.  They can pick out some non-mainstream things that are pretty cool.  The biggest sellers aren't always necessarily the best tasting or the best value.

We learned that the hard way. We used to just look at the top sellers and we bought Running with Scissors Merlot once (I think it was Merlot) and it was Rank. I couldn't even finish it.
