How is the class going? The test is next week, right? I know a few coworkers have dogs in the earlier class and they are a bit nervous. Hope you and Guinness are having a good time!

We are enjoying it, although I can't believe test week is creeping up on us in a few days. I am not feeling very confident.
I know I shouldn't feel bad... all the dogs in our class have things that they're better at than others. Guinness sits for petting and brushing, does his recall, and sit/down/stays like a champ, but heel without trying to lead me and leaving the treat on the floor are challenges. When he's focused, he's pretty good; when he's wired, he's like a pinball. I think I'm going to try to get to the test a good half hour early and just walk laps around the parking lot to get over the excitement of the car ride and re-focus him.
Practicing is hard this time of year. Petsmart works, but it's been too cold/wet/gross to practice outside a lot. We will need all the luck we can get on Monday!
The leaving the treat test was hard for Max too. Particularly because during the test you can't use any leash corrections. When Max and I started walking up to the treat I used my "you're going to be in trouble" voice and told her to "leave it." She did, but she sure did walk by it really slowly.
I'll be sending you lots of luck and if I'm still in the office come test time I'll stop by to say hi. :-)
