AHHH couches...

I was just going to get this one: http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/00098389

But I found this on craigslist: http://chicago.craigslist.org/nwc/fuo/1613438137.html  It's been sitting in a guest room and not used

or I could buy that one for $50 more: http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/S79861261

The thing with the Klippan series is that it's been around forever and buying new covers is pretty easy.

So what would you do?

Re: AHHH couches...

  • i would probably go look at the one on craigslist and if it is in good condition buy that since it is the cheapest
  • If the craigslist one isn't all nasty, I would go with that one. That's what I would do if I were starting off like you are.
  • OK, contacted the craigslist guy to see if it's still available :)  It's located about 30 min from here, so that's nice, hopefully it's still available!

  • I can't open CL but I like the simpler one. The first one. The pattern on the second is weird to me.

  • I'd go with the first one from IKEA.  The fabric on the CL one looks slouchy.  And used couches from unknown people weird me out.

However, if used couches don't freak you out and it looks nicer in preson, definitely go with the CL one.

  • I'd buy a new cover for it (gerrie theres like 8-9 covers available for it, I wouldn't get the patterned one, just the alme natural).  I'm guessing the cover looks slouchy because they've moved it and such.

Andrea I have the same issue with used furniture.  If it has a cushion I need it brand new.  I can't handle used couches, chairs etc.  I will buy stuff I can tear the seat off and replace with new stuff.

The fact the CG couch can have a new cover helps my issues. lol

LOL, yeah, that was what was holding me back too, but it's just going to be in the studio, not at home being sat on all the time!  And I'm going to use the new febreeze sanitizer to give it a go beforehand!
