My sister's on bedrest

I don't really understand what's happening but she's on bedrest through the rest of her pregnancy.  She's due April 24 but they're hoping she'll make it to March 30.  Crazy...we're going to have a baby in the family in about a month (hopefully longer though)!
Damn you Nest for screwing up my siggy!

Re: My sister's on bedrest

  • Ugh, that sucks but I am sure it is for the best.

What about her shower this w/e?

  • I'm sorry.  It sucks.  I was on it for most of my pg with the twins and have been for 2 months with this baby.  I hope she makes it to March 30.

  • I guess the high-risk doctor told her that she's allowed one trip per week, so long as she's sitting the entire time (dinner, movies) so her shower is okay as long as it's the one trip for the week.  I think she either got that steroid shot this past Monday or she will get it soon...I'm useless w/the baby stuff.

Sucky part is that she has to quit school this semester (prob...one of her classes is graded on disuccsion participation only...she's calling all her teachers to find out if she can do some stuff online).  She seemed more upset over dropping classes than the bedrest, but she said she's trying to focus on things like that instead of Logan coming too soon.

Damn you Nest for screwing up my siggy!

  • oh no poor thing :( Do they know whats wrong? I hope she takes it easy and it goes by quickly for her!
  • The steroid shots will give her peace of mind.  It's 2 shots.  You get one and then 24 hours later the next one.  I am convinced this is the only reason why Sofia and Ava did as well as they did when they were born because they were 5 weeks early.

  • Bedrest does suck the weeks seem very long and focusing on something other than the date really helps.  I hope the baby stays in for while longer.
  • I will keep her in my thoughts and hope that she can make it through bedrest with all her sanity.  Hopefully they will let her do some online work for school so that could help keep her busy.

  • Thanks guys, I'll pass the good wishes on.

Jo, I'm not really sure what's wrong.  I think on Monday she said that her cervix was softening (or something) and they told her then that they wouldn't be surprised if the baby comes around March 30 (due date is April 24).  I guess he's growing good though...she said he was 4 lbs 2 oz at that appt and she seemed happy w/it.

I wish I understood what was happening...she talks and my brain can't keep up.

  • I hope he stays in as long as he can and agreed Bedrest is not fun but hopefully she can do something every day to keep her mind off of it andi hope her teachers will work with her.
  • Oh my gosh! That sucks and I really hope the baby can stay in as long as possible! Since your family is all so close I'm sure you guys will be able to help keep her mind of things.
