Kroger Mariemont has the most limited selection!

Angry

grrrrrrrr...

There.

I just had to get it off my chest.  I was so pissed--no fresh scallops?  And the gigantic scallops in the fish case still had ice on them from being frozen. And no specialty pasta?  I just needed spinach fettuccini and they didn't even have it in the refrigerated pasta selection.  Very disappointing.

I'm going to need to drive to the totally amazing Anderson Kroger for shopping I think.  Maybe the reason Anderson Kroger was so busy was because everyone from Mariemont and surrounding areas go there!

Re: Kroger Mariemont has the most limited selection!

  • Madeira's not so bad (plus the employees and customers are nicer there). But Anderson out classes both.

That's true.  I do like Madeira and I've been to the Kroger and I would totally go the wine shop that's in that plaza.  I wonder if it's much larger than Mariemont??

  • The White Oak Krogers has the most limited selection of ANY Krogers that I have been to before! Although, I have only been to one other Krogers in Cincinnati. Anywho, our Krogers used to be a Thriftway I was told..so there isn't a lot of space compared to some Krogers. Sigh, I miss my Bowling Green Krogers..
  • I totally agree!!  I hate this Kroger!!!!  They have nothing.  It irritates me more because I moved here from Anderson, so I went from Super Kroger to this WTH!   I did hear the photo lady in Mariemont talking about remodeling, so hopefully they are going to remodel and maybe start having a better selection!!!

  • Ha-ha!  You should come up and shop at the Kroger closest to us.  It's in a bad neighborhood near the University of Dayton and we called it Scary Kroger when we were students.  Friends who lived in a nearby historic district called it Deliverance Kroger.  The most gourmet seafood you'll find there is a box of frozen breaded fried shrimp.  we're coffee snobs and today I was shocked to discover that they did not have any whole bean coffee.  We were out so we had to "settle" for ground.   Kroger Fresh Fare is pretty good if you want gourmet specialty foods but don't want to drive to a specialty store.

  • The White Oak Kroger is at least nicer than the others nearby.  Mt Airy is icky and Northgate isn't so hot either.  I remember when it was just a Steak & Shake in the middle of some woods.  Thriftway was across the street where the chemo center is located but then it moved to that location.

I still like Kroger better than Meijer though.  My Meijer is always out of stuff!

  • I heard it was next on the list to be remodeled after they finish the Harpers Point store (March 25th).  So you may get your wish in a year or so.
  • Have you tried Biggs Skytop? If I go to a grocery this is where I go.

I kind of miss scary Kroger. But not that much. The one on Smithville (I think, it's at the top of the hill when you go up Third), always smelled like booze when I went to it.

Just a small tip - I hear they are going to start a remodel soon -- should take care of this at this point :)

I don't hate Biggs Skytop, but I don't love it either...

There is an odd instant gratification from Kroger Plus Carding-it.  I need it like a drug.

  • Well I guess that I should be grateful that I don't find my Kroger scary..with one exception, let me warn you:

When I first moved here, I was in the WO Kroger parking lot in my car counting change, it was in the middle of the day. A lady with really bad dry skin knocked ON MY WINDOW! She said that she was stuck in Cincinnati because her dad is crazy & she had no money..was out of gas etc. I told her I didn't have any $. This was July.

Then in September I went to a Kroger on Colerain, saw the SAME LADY! She started to tell me the same story as I walked to the store. I stopped her & said I already know your story..I can't help you.

Late November, my husband & I are walking from our car in the parking lot, to the Walgreens on N. Bend & the SAME lady comes up to my husband. He had heard me describe her in so much detail that he knew who she was right away! She said "Sir"& he said "Can't help you". Obviously she lives in Cincinnati & was not just temporarily stuck here. She also manages to get to different parking lots. By now she could have gotten some kind of job..but instead she sometimes seams to lurk in WO parking lots..that makes me nervous! FYI, I've seen her wear a gray hoodie with the hood up & a bubble coat with fur around the hood.

  • BTW,  I meant seems not seams..oops!
