We're going for yard of the month...lol
So we had a Griswold house at Christmas...or almost. He's already said that we need more lights for next year.
He has seeds (grass and flower) for the yard and he's been itching to get started on our 'awesome' lawn. It's full of weeds and b/c it's Bermuda- it looks dead. He's digging up weeds today and just called. He needed me to call our HOA to make sure it is ok that he rents a roto-tiller to till up the front lawn so he can put the new seeds down. Oy vey! I'm secretly excited that he gets into this kind of stuff though.
I did put my foot down when he wanted to order Perfect Patch for the lawn....
Re: We're going for yard of the month...lol
this is what I've been doing for the past few weeks! I just do a little at a time with a manual tiller - what a PITA. but it's my form of exercise and I'm getting some satisfaction by pulling out the horrendous weeds.
p.s. I looked into perfect patch - google perfect patch review and it turns out it's not so good. glad you saved some $$!
bobcatsteph- we bought bermuda grass seed and kentucky blue grass seed to aid it...don't ask me- I'll let him have the lawn as a project. lol
ssinca- Yeah, I'm big on reading reviews so I was grumbling at buying it...was not going to happen. Too much $$ for not enough seed!
btw, I think you're losing for "best" lawn - this is a photo from earlier this week when it snowed, but I'm sure you see the lovely weeds.
where the snow stuck is what I've dug up so far.
lol...I saw your picture. It reminded me of a weed/tree I had earlier this year. I finally pulled it b/c I couldn't see Mason (white dog in my siggy) when he was behind it.
