Changes in Period?

Has your period changed as you've gotten older?

I used to have a light day the first day and then heavy days for a couple of days and then another light day towards the end of my cycle.  I recently turned 30 and now I get about three days of spotting and then it gets really heavy.  It's has concerned me a little.

Re: Changes in Period?

  • I'm only 24 so I can't really answer that, but my mom's has always been really heavy. I think usually the only time it changes is when you have a diet change or change in your stress levels. Obviously I'm not a doc, though. Go to webmd.com. They have answers on everything, and they're reliable.

  • I'm almost 30 and I've noticed some changes as well. Don't know if it's just because I'm more aware. Though any major changes should be discussed with your GYN asap.
  • It's just hormones. My periods have changed from heavy to light throughout the years, but my gyno says that's completely normal. I think as long as you are still having one every month... you're good
  • yes, I used to have what I call the perfect period 4 days and light.  Now I get gut wrenching cramps, it spotting at first then its heavy for a good 5 days and the spotting can last any where from 2 days to 4 days.  Anything medically wrong with me to cause it, No(Gyn checked it off) just stress.

  • Since I've turned 30, my period has gotten really, really light. Someone mentioned to me that it might be a side effect of too much time on birth control. My doctor doesn't seem concerned by it at all but I'm still a little freaked out.
