Home from Surgery

Hi Ladies,

Surgery was scheduled for 8:45 am Friday morning. DH and I had to be there at 7:45 am... I didnt go back to the OR til about 9;45 am. The last thing I remember before going under was the clock in the OR read 9:48 am. I saw DH in recovery around Noon or so.  I stayed there for a little while, was feeling queesy and didnt want to rush out of there too soon if I wasnt feeling well.  Everyone was great and very helpful.  We got home around 2pm. DH and I were pretty tired yesterday and just lounged arund and relaxed and napped.  Had saltines and ginger ale yesterday and then had some soup in the evening once I was feeling better.  Had some cereal this mornign and feeling pretty well so far just relaxing and watching TV while DH went to run some errands.  The hard part is getting used to crutches and not being able to put any weight on my bad foot.. .but I'll get used to it soon enough. Go back Thursday for my first post-op and will get the heavy splint removed and then get a cast put on. I'll have that for 2 weeks or so and then get my cast off and stitches removed from there.  So far so good.  Thanks everyone for your thoughts and prayers.  :) I'll keep you posted.

  • Glad to hear everything went well!!  The anesthesia always makes me feel nauseous, but I'm glad they were understanding about your desire to stick around.  Enjoy the next few days of having DH wait on you!!  Happy recovery and we'll keep thinking of you!
