Re: (@) Political Birth Announcements

  • I have to say, I do think that they are pretty cute but they would never fly with my family. ?I can only imagine the reaction of my in-laws when I sent them the "our littlest dem" announcement! ?This is the man that removed my John Kerry yard sign multiple times and tried to scrape off my bumper sticker because I had a "rectangular piece of shit" my car.

  • I'm not a fan, but I'm also a big stick in the mud.  I just really don't like anything that says future fill in parents desires.  I'll admit, though, I've just seen 1 too many future pilot babies recently, and they really irritate me.

I feel the same way. Something about it kind of rubs me the wrong way. ?

  • Phew. I don't like them either. Politics are dirty. Babies are clean. Don't mix them. Also, won't they be disappointed when "Littlest Democrat" becomes "Littlest Alex P. Keaton"? I've always thought when parents try too hard to mold their child into a certain desired "image" the child rebels into something opposite.

Yeah, I third y'all. The ones that get me are the "future college mascot" blinkies. I don't mean to call out the specific poster, but the "Future Gator" is the one I remember best. What if your kid doesn't want to go to college? Or, god forbid, he/she wanted to go to......

FSU?!? Would you just kill yourself?

  • I would find them a bit offensive unless all of your friends and family are like minded where politics is concerned.
  • I'd never send one and if I received one I'd give it the side eye. I care about the baby, not the parents political affiliation.

There is a part of me that is still out to rebel against my parents, which is why I'd probably take some sad glee out of this.  Really, I probably am setting myself out to raise an Alex P Keaton, who thinks Reagan was the bomb.

LMAO!  My son is a democrat who thinks Hillary Clinton hung the moon! He is a borderline socialist!

But I am holding out hope that when he gets a real job and has to pay taxes he will see the light- the Republican light or at least the Libetarian light!

Oh, don't joke about that one.  I know some die hard Gators families (and FSU fams for that matter).  Families where everyone went to UF, all the way back to the grandparents, and they named their boat the insti-gator.  Serious nutters.  A grandson didn't get into UF.  Oh, it was a scandal.  I think he went to UCF instead.  The horrors!

Now, any hypothetical child of mine will be going to college, but who am I to pick which college at birth?
