I just booked a four day trip to Chicago! I'm meeting a friend from my hometown there, and by "friend" I mean a guy I plan on having sex with. A lot. So I figured I want to get waxed, completely, for the occasion, which is something I've never done before (I've always just shaved). Two questions: Is this an appointment I need to make a few weeks in advance, or is within the week cool? And how many days ahead of the trip should I do it so I'm not sore? Thanks ladies!
Re: Waxing!
I agree with this.
I always give myself 1-2 days to let the soreness and redness go away before impressing my hubby.
Also, just my opinion but I HATED when I got everything waxed because I felt like I was 5 years old again. I always do the landing strip because it doesn't feel so immature...I still get everything waxed...except the sexy strip.
I am a regular waxer- ever since I've experienced it I wouldn't have it any other way. The hair grows back better and it's just sooo much nicer.
You need to allow about 3 weeks of growth for the best results. A gf of mine tried to go in with just 2 weeks and the results weren't as good as mine have been consistently. Make sure you purchase a bottle of "Tend Skin" and use that after your appointment and everyday thereafter.
Also make sure you exfoliate in the shower before you go there and don't put any lotion of fragrances near the 'area'. If you have any more questions let me know. There are other posters here who have gotten waxed before but IDK how often or if they even do it regularly (I go every 5- 6 weeks).
I am also a regular waxer and I love it. I have been going for about a year and I go every 4 weeks. If you are worried about the pain, try getting some No Scream Cream. It is a numbing cream you put on and it works wonders!!!
I personally don't have any irritation anymore so there's no "waiting period" for me, but I would recommend scheduling your first appointment 2-3 days before sexy time. Also, I recommend a PFB Vanish Treatment to treat the area to avoid ingrown hairs and irritation, but don't put it on before having sex...it smalls very medicine-y and probably doesn't taste very good if you guys get REALLY close
Have fun!
Soo.. I just got a Brazilian wax last, last Thursday, let me tell you all about it...
Make sure your hair is long enough (if you if you think it is long, it probably is better if it is longer)... i thought it was long, and my girl said it would of been good if it was a lil longer, but it still totally worked fine. The wax my girl used was the kind that you put on and it turns gummy/tacky and then she pulls the wax off, no cloth strips... honestly it does hurt, but it is more of a stinging pain. Where once she pulls it off, it stings for like 5+ sec then i was totally fine. The part that hurt the most was the part between the lips and your leg.. everything else was do-able. i got everything waxed even the be-hind area. In the front I decided to leave a lil strip. I did bleed a lil bit, mainly on the top pelvic area, but it was soo lil blood, you could wipe it away with your finger... the total process took probably 30-40 min. now the aftermath.. I was really scared that i was going to get ingrown hair, cause i have been prone to that from shaving. So my girl gave be a loofa sponge to exfoliate in the shower 1 time a day. She also gave me some toner to use after each shower, i think it helped to dry out the area so it is not moist and doesnt collect oil in the pores. That night i was totally perfect, not too much pain at all, and it looked pretty good, not that red. Then in the morning i took a shower, when i got out, i had a total rash.. didn't hurt it just had a ton of red lil bumps. So my only thought that it was my body soap that has a fragrance in it so i think the fragrance irritated it...?? but it did not hurt it just looked bad.. lol. So in the end i would say all the redness was totally gone on Tues. So give yourself about 5 days before you have your "event" with your guy!!
p.s when you go to get waxed, make sure you don't wear jeans and try to wear boy short underwear so it is not tight on the bikini area!
hope this helps!
