It was really fun! A few people who RSVP'd didn't show up, but as it turns out that was better. The place was packed, there were about 8 people that didn't come, and I have no idea where they all would have sat! lol. It was really fun getting to see all of our friends & family, chat it up, have fun, & share some good food. Everyone seemed like they were having fun, almost everyone came up to me to say the reception was really beautiful & they had fun, everyone loved the food! I think a lot of people just liked getting together and seeing people that they don't see often.
I actually had one ugly: our cake collapsed. We had a croquembouche and before the reception even started it began falling apart. I actually saw the "big collapse" and I started cracking up. I mean - what could I do? Get mad and throw a fit? No. So I laughed about it with our photographer who was standing there with me. Luckily the Jazz Kitchen pastry chef was able to fix it. The Jazz Kitchen did not make the cake, it was from an outside bakery.
The staff at Jazz Kitchen were awesome! They were totally on their A Game, super courteous & helpful. ALL of our guests said that they loved Jazz Kitchen and that all the staff was so awesome.
It was a success! I'm glad we did it.
