My friend, who's wedding I'm a BM in, went to look at a venue Saturday but it turned out the room she wanted was already booked the date she wanted. I'm trying to come up with places for her to check out online. I was over on TK and found a couple so far.
Where did you have your ceremony/reception? Would you recommend it?
TIA!

Re: Wedding Poll
I got married at the Harrington Farm in Princeton. Both the reception and ceremony were there. We were married the last weekend in October so we got a really good deal on the rental fees. The prices were the best I saw for that kind of venue (barn/old house) and the food was soooo good.
The location can be confusing to get to but it's on the side of Mt. Wachusett and the traffic up there would be just for people going to the farm so you wouldn't have to worry about random people going by.
GL!
About an our radius of our hometown. We're getting ready there so she doesn't want to be too far away. The place she looked at was Indian Pond in Kingston, which is an hour away. She's looking to do the ceremony onsite.
Ceremony: Holy Trinity Church, West Harwich
Reception: Wychmere Harbor Club, Harwichport
Yes, I would recommend both!
We looked at Indian Pond - it was our runner-up actually. It's definitely a solid hour though, I actually would have said it was more than that until you said it was.
Wedgewood Pines in Stow was beautiful
Cyprian Keyes in Boylston
Hopkinton Country Club
Oh- we also looked at the castle in Brookline- I am blanking on the name- it is right by the Longwood T stop.
Regis had a really nice setting but really only ideal for a summer wedding (we had a winter one).
We also looked at the Quincy club but I found it to be kind of a dump.
Just going by what google says. It may have been just over an hour.
It very well could be an hour - I was going based off our friends who live in Plymouth - but they're actually 2 or 3 exits further south than Kingston, and plus, we're obviously 3 or 4 exits further north than B.
We got married at the Royal Sonesta Hotel in Cambridge.
Where do they want to get married? I have researched TONS of venues both in and out of Boston the last few months for my two clients. I have so much info, PM me if you want!
I will PM you in a couple minutes. Thank you so much!
My reception was at the Hilton in Woburn, which isn't rustic or anything, but we had a great time. The food was fantastic, and the coordinator was very helpful. Plus, most of our guests were from out of town and we didn't want them to worry about driving afterward.
There wasn't any outdoor space, but it was pouring rain all day, anyway.
Good luck to your friend! We had to get married of a different week than originally planned because the place was booked and it ended up just as well

I would say definitely check out Cyprian Keyes Golf Club in Boylston. We had our wedding there in June and were very happy with it. It's beautiful, has an outdoor spot for ceremonies but can also do them inside. It also has a gorgeous music room!
They were very good to work with there, too. We did a Friday evening because it was cheaper.
Good luck!
Had the wedding at St. Charles in Waltham, but went out to Butternut too because the prices were really reasonable.
The venue is gorgeous and the room happened to match my colors. The chef did a great job with our menu and tailored to our needs, we wanted to do a vegetarian wedding so he was totally willing to develop something for us rather than the pre-planned menus.
Only problem was that it rained, not their fault, but they were suppose to clear off some areas near the clubhouse for pictures for when the rain stopped, and it wasn't done automatically or when we first got there, I had to tell them to do it so we could get our pictures. The function coordinator we were working with was new, not the original girl we started with (the original girl was part of the family, and was great, but the club was still really new, and I guess had started getting busier so they were adding staff), and she didn't seem to totally understand what we wanted. They had us make a schedule of when we wanted stuff like cake cutting, dances, music to start, they asked for it not me being a bridezilla, but then they started totally not following it (is that normal), so I had NO CLUE what was going on, and had to tell them repeatedly to stick to the schedule that they asked for and we went over. Like I said it was when she first started and we were late from the church so things were complicated, but the food and room were great.
Lakeview Pavilion in Foxboro. My sister is doing her ceremony/reception there and it's gorgeous.
