OK, so STRESSING OUT.
We went to go put up the trim yesterday. I had an e-session at 3:30 downtown and didn't get to my space until around 6:30. David had gotten there at about 3 and was supposed to start putting up the floor trim. Well, he didn't like the way it looked and I got there and NOTHING was done. He had apparently as Mel said "stared at it to magically fix itself" for 2 hours. While I was livid and really upset about this I didn't yell. As much as I wanted to yell WHAT THE HELL HAVE YOU BEEN DOING!? I did not. I made the decision and then everything was kind of done around 8:30pm. But I realized today (when I went into my bathroom) that we forgot the quarter round and that's why it looked weird and he hated it. He was SUPPOSED to go to Menards and get trim for the door and talk to the guys there about the issue, he apparently did not do part 2. Because if he did, there would've been quarter round purchased. BLAH.
So now, he can't go back until oh, saturday at 7pm to get things done. I'm panicking and thinking I'm going to learn to use a miter saw. Can I do it?!?!
p.s. the damn nest keeps wanting me to update my profile and it's annoying.
Re: i think i need to use powertools
This totally goes under annoying coworkers. :-)
I cut and hung 50% of the trim in my house and did a great job. It's actually pretty easy to use a miter saw. You just have to make sure your angles adn right. I think you can do it!
i threaten TJ that i'm going to pay someone to do the handy work and that usually puts his butt in gear.
or i bribe him with sexual favors
For Steve, when he's lazy and I need something done now, I tell him I'm going to call my dad and so that he doesn't get shown up by my dad he suddenly has a bunch of time
Or, even better, I do it myself and then talk about how I did it without his help. When we first moved in together he kept putting off helping me put together our grill and so I did it all by myself. I told EVERYONE the story about how he couldn't do it so I had to do it for him. He has never let me put together anything by myself again just so I don't have that to hold over his head.
But yes, you can totally use a miter saw. If you aren't sure go into Home Depot or Lowes and ask them how you do it they should be able to walk to you through it so you can do it on your own.
