Yorkie (ish) Dog : Needs Home

We found a yorkie (ish) dog last week. The little fella was very dirty and hungry, but in good shape overall. We took him to the vet to have him scanned and he as a microchip, but his tag was never registered.

We've posted him in a few places, but gotten no response yet. I talked to the folks at the Yorkie rescue, but he is too big too be a full bred yorkie...

If his people don't show up by the end of this week I'd like to find him a forever home. Please let me know if you are interested. email - marysledd at gmail dot com

He is a wonderful little dog - house broken, crate trained(sort of) and very quite - as far as little dogs go. He does need to be fixed and he needs all of his shots. We would keep him, but our dog doesn't like other dogs.

Being a small fella I'd like to see him go to a home with no little children.

Re: Yorkie (ish) Dog : Needs Home

  • I might be interested. Can you email me the info and maybe a picture so I can email DH. DD has been wanting a dog forever but I've been hesitant. If he's already house broken and somewhat crate trained and quiet (not super hyper) that might the ideal situation for us. My email is nessia at yahoo dot com
  • Have you posted an ad in CL?
  • I put an ad in the lost dog section, but my vet recommended not re-homing him via craigslist because he was concerned someone would take the dog and sell it.
  • About how many pounds is he? Any idea about how old? Just want to throw this out there since you mentioned no small kiddos, I have a yorkie and he adores little kids. No idea why - he was never around them & never had a chance to get used to them, but loves them. Obviously I know nothing about the dog you found's temperment but I wouldn't make that a deciding factor without giving it a try. If it doesn't work out with the pp and you can't find him a home shoot me an email at ashley.mierzwa at gmail, I have a couple people in mind that might be interested.
  • One of the girls who works in my office is taking him on a trial basis. She's made an appointment for him to get a full vet work up and for him to be fixed. If it doesn't work out for her - hoping it will she has no other pets or children- I'll check back in.
