I bought my first maternity clothes today...

because I wore my khaki pants to church yesterday and baby doesn't being squished into mama's pants.  Strangely enough, my jeans are still fitting for the time being.
But I have to know this...Why did no one tell me that maternity pants were so freakin' comfortable?  OMG.  It was like heaven putting those on.  It also helped that I got 2 pairs on clearance.  And mama loves getting things on clearance.  :)

Re: I bought my first maternity clothes today...

  • That's great!  Even better that they were on clearance!  Enjoy them!

I have an irrational fear about maternity clothes...I'm scared that I'm going to find them so incredibly comfortable that I'll never want to wear normal clothes again.   And...that said comfort will enable me to gain even more weight and keep it hangin' on for years afterward.Embarrassed

  • Awww Sweet! You must post bump pics. I know this will sound weird but I think pregnant people are just so cute. I'm odd I know...
  • A friend of ours had her son 3 months ago and she's still wearing her maternity pants because she says they are way more comfortable then her regular pants.
  • Congrats!  Did you do Target or Motherhood or what?

Maternity pants are SO comfy.  I had some issues with them sliding down, especially before 8 months, but the belly bands are so much nicer on your body when you're sitting down than buttons and belts!  They have way cute stuff now, too.

I could still fit into the clothes now, but I have put them away so I can be reminded that I need to lose weight!

  • I miss pants with no buttons!  Enjoy it while it lasts :)

  • Sierra I'll post pics when my bump starts showing.  Right now I just look like I need to lose weight!  As of last appointment, I hadn't gained any weight, but it seems to be shifting (to my boobs, like I need any more there!)  Right now the major thing is that I can't suck my belly in.  I'm wearing my regular scrub pants, but having trouble keeping them on my hips(I guess it has shifted to there too, another spot where I don't need any help), so I'm wearing my belly band to work starting today.
And I can feel the hard spot where my uterus is on my abdomen.  Sometimes I feel the pressure of my uterus inside my abdomen, but no flutters of baby movement yet, but its early.  That would be reassuring.  :)
As I told DH the other day, the sensation/realization that there is a person in there is really weird.

Aria- I went to Kohl's.  MIL is coming next week, and wants to take me shopping for maternity clothes.  I figure I'll let her take me to Motherhood/Pea in the Pod, etc.

  • Congrats on the growing baby belly!

The over-the-belly ones are like wearing oversized sweats!  i love it.

  • Embarrassed I wear maternity pants at least once a week to work.  They are really more like elastic waste pants.  Because of all of my stuffs it is really hard for me to wear buttoned pants that put pressure anywhere on my abdomen.  Thankfully they arent over the belly or anything so I dont feel so bad about it.

So happy that you are finally in some comfy clothes.  Im sure JB will be super happy now too.

I'm sure it won't be long till it starts showing.

A girl we go to church with is pregnant and she only is able to come everyother sunday b/c of her job. but she was there one week and missed one and then the next there it was. She's too cute! DH was like "Whoa, one day nothing then boom there it is." LOL!!

  • Woo hoo for comfy maternity pants! I wish I was wearing some now. . . this skirt and my lunch are not agreeing with each other!

I love you, I honestly love you. :)  I still wear a pair of maternity cords for exactly the same reason, every time I get AF.  My abdomen is so crampy and the pressure hurts so I throw those on.

  • Yay for getting your maternity pants on clearance.  I have heard that mat. clothes can be really expensive!  Double yay that they are so comfy!

  • Exciting!

I'm buying a maternity suit from a girl on MM for $50!  I'll only wear it a couple times, but there are certain meetings at work where I HAVE to wear a suit.  Better than paying $100+ for just a jacket which is what I've been able to find online so far.

Not that I need it yet, but I don't want to pass up a deal.

  • Maternity pants are teh awesome.  I bought several around Christmas (I wasn't even 12 weeks yet Embarrassed) and I haven't looked back.

    Congrats on a 'fun' milestone!

  • I heard they were comfy!!! I kinda think of them as the yoga pants of maternity clothes... ahhh...

Congrats!!! and a sale, too! Bonus!

  • I love maternity pants, especially my maternity jeans (which I got at Ross for $12.99).  They are sooo comfy and seem to just grow with me.  I was rocking my regular jeans with the Bella Band, and its just not the same.  Like you, no one told me that maternity pants like stretch all over, not just the belly part, so they are totally accomodating my hips too.
  • Maternity pants are SOOO awesome!  I absolutely love them! I am kinda not looking forward to going back to regular clothes! LOL
