PSA: Qualifying for the $6,500 tax credit
SO we met with our tax accountant on Friday and he explained to us that although my husband owned his condo for 5 years and we purchased a new home, we will not qualify for the $6,500 long-term home owner tax credit. You may ask why??? Well we got married and I have not lived in his condo for five years, therefore we do not qualify for the credit. It appears we should have never got married. Isn't that just a crock of BS!!!!
If anyone knows anyway around this or any ideas of a loop hole to this stupid catch please let me know. Malia....I think this would be a good topic fo an article ;-).
