Dying my hair

So maybe you ladies can help. My hair started graying about a year ago and has only grown in faster lately. Since my hair is so dark, each gray hair sticks out like a sore thumb. I finally broke down and bought some hair color - I used Clairol Graysolutions. I really like the color (no one can even tell I dyed my hair) but it didn't cover my gray hairs at all! I know we are on the young side for gray hair, but does anyone have any hair dyes that they reccommend that I can try the next time I dye my hair?

Re: Dying my hair

  • I don't have any suggestions, but I'll be interested to see the replies.  I have a few cropping up on my head.  My mother was completely gray by 30 so I'm pretty nervous!
  • I don't have any gray hairs but I use Clairol Perfect 10.  It is really easy to do and I like the shade but it doesn't seem to last too long.  I might try doing it a little longer than 10 minutes next time to see if that helps.

  • I don't have much advise for you on this one but maybe check on the Fashion and Beauty board.  They may have some ideas.  Good luck!

  • I agree with Laura, I'd check Fashion & Beauty.  I'm no help, I've never dyed my own hair, I always get it done in a salon.  Good luck though!! :)

  • I don't personally dye my own hair (go to a salon). But my mom covers her gray with Herbal Essence hair dye. She says the non-permanent stuff covers better and fades more naturally. (If that makes any sense). But when she dyes it, it always looks good. And she's REALLY gray. Lol.
