TMI: I feel like a wuss!

My gyn, who my whole family used and was awesome, passed away last February ( a few weeks before my nephew was born, too). We all felt terrible b/c he was an amazing doctor and very young!

Since, I haven't been to the doc-- even let my bc run out. But we want to ttc within the next year so I know I have to go. Made the appointment and going in a few weeks to a new doc (the one who deliverd my nephew and who my sister swears by) but I'm like a wuss and getting the same anxiety I got the first time I ever went years ago!

I dunno why I am posting but I'm sure someone else out there gets all crazy when it comes to, as my husband says, "the lady doctor". lol

I think I am weird in that I don't really care who is looking up my hooha - as long as they have a medical degree, that is! But I can understand the anxiety. Just remember that they are professionals, and they do this for a living. To them, looking at a vagina is no different than an eye doctor looking in your eye :-) And since you have a family recommendation, you know this doc is good!

I go to a midwife who always says, "it's not easy being a woman, is it?" as she's examining. And she's right. It's never fun to go but nothing is bad or painful. So just remember to relax. Maybe have a glass of wine first. Or after. Or both! Big Smile

Maybe this will be the last time you feel that way. If you are TTC, you will likely lose your modesty on the delivery table when you have a baby. I mean, leave it there and never get it back! Smile

yeah I don't even thinks it's a matter of modesty...I could care less about someone seeing my hooha... I think I just hate someone new and my first doctor was so gentle and comforting (and super quick) that I'm afraid anyone else isn't gonna be as nice lol i dunno... guess I'm alone on this one
