Does anyone know a way to get around them???
My dream cruise has dropped in price significantly and I'm pretty sure I can change from our current cruise itinerary to the desired one without cost but the potential snafu is with changes with the airline...
I'd need to change 1 leg of our flight (bought as multi-trip 2 OW intinerary) to depart out of Rome instead of Venice and delayed by 2 days. Based on Delta's site, it looks like this would cost us $250/ticket ($500 total) to make the change, which hurts...
Any other bright ideas?...
Re: XP: Delta Change Fees?
Update: Well, this idea is dead in the water. Cruise line wasn't willing to budge on letting us apply our existing reservation amount to a new reservation. We'd have to eat our $500 deposit (full refunds allowed 70+ days out and we're at 66!). Seems a bit stupid to me given that we'd actually pay them $800 more to do the other cruise itinerary. I refuse to pay everyone all these change fees. *sigh* oh well. Guess I'll try dream cruise again in a couple more years or more...
As an aside, if you do know ways to get around change fees in general, do post!

I wish I had some trick to getting around Delta's change fees. I could've saved some money but even more time in the past 12 years of work travel. I sat in many airports for hours because I finished work early but the company wouldn't reimburse the change fee.
I'm sorry it didn't work out for you!
